Do you think Frank Warren feels under pressure to move DeGale on quicker?

Its fair to say Dilks is an English title level fighter and DeGale blew him away in 1 round.

How would people feel i say this beinga highly hypothetical situation and not very likely

Smith vs Steiglitz WBO Smith wins
Degale vs David for British Degale wins

Smith vs Degale for WBO Degale wins in his 11th pro fight

There are some who have claimed Smith is 50/50 with steiglitz and those same people give them about the same odds for Degale that would be moving a fighter fast.....

I could see those fights coming off but there no chance if Smith wins DeGale will meet him for the title.

Even if DeGale wins, he would have to face a super tough mandatory eventually and lose.

No i agree if Smith were to win i think Frank would happily sell out the Echo as many times as he could until he lost the title or got a big payday against a big name.

In theory though i see no reason why Degale could not hold the title and learn at the same time he may run into a tough mandatory but thats potentially 4-5 fights down the line which would give Degale plenty of time to develop.

If he were able to beat Smith in a convinving enough fashion i would say he would be in the position to be pushed harder. I dont think Degale is the type who is going to be able to do a few defences against "standard opposition" he neds the challenges for his own motivation

Even with Franks contact at the WBO there no chance of 5 fights without a mando.

Smith would not beat Steiglitz. I don't see why people think he will!

Im not saying that he could do 4-5 fights without a mando im saying a WBO mandatory if he were able to beat Smith would probably a good but beatable test at that stage of his career with his current trajectory

It being the WBO he would probably avoid Dirrell Froch Abraham Ward Bute Green and all the other big names

Im not saying he will but there are plenty who give him a 50/50 chance on here so by the same logic even if Smith can be competetive and most are in agreement that Degale Smith would also be a close fightor winnable for degale that means that Degale is possibly fringe world level and needs to be pushed accordingly

The fact that Smith posts on forums leads to his being extremely overrated. The same thing happened with Jamie Moore.

Most of the people that post here also post on boxrec. Personally I have many accounts on boxrec. Their moderators are mugs.

Absolute rubbish I'm afraid. The reason people are saying Smith would give Degale hell is that Degale is a novice and Smith is a decent fighter.

Degale does not look ready in any way for a real trench warfare, he's barely taken a proper punch without headgear. Smith has been in tussles, he knows the score, he has experience. What if Degale reacts badly to a punch? Or a cut? Or gasses?

Now, the thing with novices is that they are an unknown quantity. Degale is a talent, and he could shine brightly on the night. But he could also sink without a trace, and for that reason, there is no way Frank risks him.

See Haye - Thompson for an illustration.

Em... that has nothing to do with anything. He didn't show he had to adapt or fight through adversity. My point remains.

Livra, you are talking shite yet again. The reason there are people who think smith can beat degale is because it is a reality. Trotter highlights my points well in his post. The basics are degale is a novice making novice mistakes. You best believe that if degale thinks he can trade and tee off like he did in the end against Horton with smith he is in for a harsh lesson. He learned **** all against dilks with a soft stoppage. Putting him in with smith or any boxer with a pulse right now Is a mistake, and I would put groves in that category
