You think they'd throw Ortiz in against Peterson right now? Peterson's a Top Rank fighter anyway, can't see Arum sacrificing him to a GBP fighter who left him.

I thought it was strange to but Kotelnik, Mabuza and Murray have all turned the fight down. Apparently the only other fighter HBO would aprove is Peterson (suprising again after his brothers poor performance).

From a Top Rank point of view, Peterson will be getting paid well, its good exposure and a very winnable fight.

    I think its a 50-50

Unlike Anthony, Lamont gave a good showing against Bradley on Showtime. So I can see HBO being keen to feature him. Just surprised at TR/GBP risking either guy at this stage, but I guess both have a lot to prove. And it will make for a good fight - both sharp, accurate punchers with good movement. I'd be delighted if it comes off.

Paul Smith vs James Degale is the fight I am looking forward to the most apart from the Khan fight....oh and the George Groves vs Yankybum in front of 4 sleeping people.

True but both have taken there risks and come up short, Oritz in far more dramatic fashion. The winner moves on, the loser become a named opponent.

Will show up Groves and Booth big time when DeGale and Smith are fighting infront of 8,000 and Groves goes un noticed by Sky, Press and Fans in Vegas.

To be honest I am mega pissed off. Pretty sure everyone else is. I can see this fight going the same way as Murray vs Khan....one kid moving on getting fights and the other just plodding along in the background until no one cares about the match up. I hope not.

I do see Booth and Groves point of view. The fight is worth far more than 50k. But by beating Smith DeGale will put himself into a position where he is 2 steps ahead of Groves and won't have to fight him. The fight is now a few years away.

I look at Ortiz's loss as an early gut-check. He failed it, but he looks like he's changed himself as a result - it was probably good for him. Lamont did well against Bradley but just didn't adapt enough. Both have good futures, even if they fight each other - as long as it's competitive and entertaining.
