    Because they sell more tickets on friday nights. So unless they get HBO or Showtime to broadcast the fight on a saturday. They rather do it on friday.

    Plus the Montreal Canadiens Hockey team usually play at the Bell Centre on Saturday nights.

    the fight with Brinkley has been approved as a mandatory defense by the IBF on request. Bika vs Brinkley was ordered as an eliminator.
    But because Bute ran from BHop, Pascal, Pavlik Super6 guys etc. they asked to sanction a fight with Brinkley as a mandatory defense and Mendy got Brinkleys spot in eliminator because the IBF couldnt just drop Bika for no reason after they have ordered him to take part in an final elimination bout.
    Bute is a letdown for every boxing fan like it or not nuthugger

    Brinkley looked extremely average when he was thoroughly outpointed by semi retired, post Lacy beatdown, 37 year old Robin Reid about 2 to 3 years ago (when Brinkley was already about 29 and presumably fully developed). Has Brinkley somehow improved significantly or was the Reid fight somehow explainable as an off night?

    Probably both. He's no top10 or anything but he's definitely better then what he showed against Reid.
