In another thread I noticed a lot of talk about floyd needing to throw combinations against pacquiao... I find that whole idea incorrect. In my view floyd would just smother pacquiao a lot just to make him uncomfortable and back him up. one punch and clinch then on the clinchs just work pacquiao out inside after about 6-7 rounds of this I don't think pacquiao will be able to stand up to the assault.. that's just my opinion... a very hopkins esque performance... or maybe wardish also
he only needs excuses and he won't need any combinations or even throw a single punch against pacquiao.
I agree with you on Floyds game plan , I think he will smother and pot shot, as I know he will not want to fight fire with fire. But the difference is that tactic will not be enough, and Manny will outwork him very easliy. The only way for Floyd to win , is to come out agressive , take ring centre and really push the action.
There are many ways to beat Pac. PAc's been bombed out of the ring from chin and body shots by counter punchers, stalkers, and he's been out boxed, and out slugged also. There are many ways to beat any fighter. There is only one style that can defeat Floyd today while there are many that can beat Pac... Sounds pro Floyd, but facts are facts!
Pac's Top Rank comp is inferior to him. Floyd is not in that mold of Top Rank fighters today. Floyd fights to win...always, and never gives up or quits!
floyd needs the balls to sign the contract, plain and simple. but we know he aint got no balls unless he's fighting a slow, old, inferior or disadvantaged opponent.
Floyd will win whether he attacks or goes on the backwards counter. if he attacks he will stop poochiao in the late rounds, since hatton fight he bult himself up real good and improved his strength.
He doesnt need combos what he needs is balls but those were swallowed by Ellerbe long time ago and he never got them back.
