wish we had seen more of him at welter to answer this properly....the tommy bell fight was supposed to have been tight enough..
and in the artie livine fight from what i hear he was very badly hurt and he came back to be the first man to stop livine.
but, out of the choices i'll have a stab at the second basilio fight...taking into consideration his long career before it, and the fact that he nearly half killed himself to win the fight...well, according to this...

Was my first thought as well. The one over Zivic comes to mind also, considering how relatively green Robinson was at the time. If I had choose a third it would probably be his first win against LaMotta since it came just weeks after LaMotta had handed him his first defeat.

Robinson had actually defeated LaMotta before losing to him.

I think Ray Robinson's greatest victory was when I saw Ray ko Randy Turpin Sept 12,1951 at Polo Grounds. Robinson who lost to tough Turpin two months earlier was cut
over his eye very badly, and the ref might have stopped the bout soon, but in the
10th round Robinson in a do or die attack, connected with every combination punch on Randy,as only Ray could do ,and the ref stopped the bout as Turpin was helpless..That was Ray's greatest victory, because he was so close to defeat, because of the bad cut.
