The highly rated Zambian Uutoni came out fast in the 1st round picking up the first point but Barnes took control from there on. Uutoni really wen't for it in the 2nd and came close to levelling it but Barnes stayed consistent throughout and picked up a well deserved Gold Medal.

18 year old McGoldrick boxed extremely well agaisnt the Sri Lankian vetran but just came up short. Was a very tight fight and there would be an argument for either boxing not getting some points scored. Still a great achievement for the welshman who was not fancied at all. Be intresting to see him in the GB Championships.

Podium squad member did what was expected and dominated the young scot Josh Taylor. Its was really Stalkers experience that got him the win, Taylor has boxed well in the games and he will win amateur golds in the future. Expect Stalker to push for a medal in london.

Gallagher built up a big lead going in the 1st but Smith boxed very well to pull it back to even in the 2nd. Gallagher couldn't really handle the pace set by the englishman but he showed allot of heart to keep it tight in the 3rd and in the final minutes of the round Gallagher took over. It was a tighter fight than the scores would say, the Irishman just wanted it more.

Dodgy scoring kept it tight at first but Johnson was dominant from round 1 onwards, leaving his opponent bloody and bruised. Johnson will now get his opportunity to go for the podium squad at the GB Championships.

Absolute dodgy scoring meant that Saunders may as well have started 5 points down. Although Kumar landed the more scoring punches, the fact Saunders couldn't score a point in the judges eyes meant Saunders went of his game plan. He really had no chance. Saunders will need to pick himself up for the GB Championships to prove his worthiness of an olympic spot.

The right man won but like Saunders in the previous fight dodgy scoring meant Ogogo was at a disadvantage from the start. Ogogo clearly a talent will need to put allot of work in to challenge at the Olympic games. He has a tough draw and did well to get to the final. O'Kane may be able to push for a spot on the Irish team.

Dominate win by Valilly who clearly has natural punching power in both hands. At 27 be interesting to see if he sticks around for 2012 as the Pro promoters will be after him.
