The way Rob goes on you'd swear it was an outlandish statement. A lot of the finals are 'home nations' matches so more than likely one team is gonna have less winners than the other, i just feel N.Ire have the stronger representatives in the final.....

I predict gold for Barnes and McCarthy and the middleweight contests could be close, so three golds for Northern Ireland is not too unrealistic and it just might get even better.:good

the stupidity of people. when it comes to the Olympic games will any of those fighters be representing Great Britain & Northern Ireland or will they be representing the Republic of Ireland????

Well that is impossible since one of Scotlands and N.I golds is against each other.

We are hardly different countries, [maybe states would be a better word, or maybe not:nut], when generally our boxers fight as 1. I would be equally as biased towards a northern boxer as a boxer from here, so Rob would be right in my case

Yea ive had this on a previous thread, it was Northern Ireland being part of GB. Of course it isnt but in am boxing terms N.I fighters selected for the olympics would represent GB and N.I. As its a boxing thread im with Rob on that

It also means, as I've tried to explain previously that these games have been a huge success from a GB and N.I point of view. Rob McCracken, Richie Woodhall etc were specifically employed with 2012 in mind and the successes of the 'home nations', in particular England and Northern Ireland shows we are on the right track
