Odlanier Solis will finally meet Ray Austin in an eliminator that was pushed back several times. Solis last fought in March when he blew out Drummond in 3, and now takes on the XXXL-sized Austin who since his Wlad loss stopped Golota and Williamson.

Much has changed since Solis' last ring appearence: he turned 30 in April and about a month ago, co-promoter Ahmet Öner unhappy with Top Rank's (lack of) promoting, he left Bob Arum's stable to sign with the mean old Don King who delivers this fight in Miami on Decembr 17 with Arena co-promoting.

Also appearing on the card will be LHW champ Tavoris Cloud and interim WW champ Selcuk Aydin. Solis better come in prepared and around 250lbs, because this fight guarantees a Klitschko shot, and at 270 Solis is gonna get Arreola'd.

solid step up for Solis and sad to say but rather a decent hw fight these days at all.. he hasnt looked too good against taller opponents in the past though

I predict Solis comes in at around 270 and beats Austin pretty handily. He's good enough to beat guys like this without being in great shape - unfortunately, when he takes on one of the Klitschko's, he'll realise that the step-up in class is so severe that he would have to have been in the shape of his life. He'll figure this out afterwards but by then it'll already be too late.

This looks like it could turn out to be a decent card, don't know if it will get any tv coverage though. Solis should be able to beat Austin and look good doing it. But, if he comes in too heavy(for his standards) and takes Austin lightly it could get interesting. Austin is nothing special but he's slightly better than some make him out to be so if Solis isn't on his game Austin has the experience and style to make him pay for it. But I think Solis will show up in his usual condition and beat Austin. Solis by wide decision.

You're talking about Timur right as I think he and Austin drew a few years back in a total lackluster fight. As the guy below wrote, Solis is experienced tho only 20 fights in plus gotta say Solis lookes a good bit more talented than Timur. I had written off Austin based on that fight and his showing v Wlad. I liked the power he showed early vs Golota but it was Golota and the fight only lasted like 2 rounds before Golota was done (with a fecked up arm). Would like to know how the Austin - TOS fight went? Perhaps this will be a good scrap

Sultan Ibragimov. The guy that looks like Barney Rubble? Wlad beat him for the WBO in 2008

Yeah you're right. I swore that was timur but my memory was wrong. Saw parts of the fight and I guess b/c i remembered it being a bad fight, i was thinking it was timur (not that I rate sultan all that highly).
