Floyd doesnt use the pull counter against South Paws. He hooks over the jab. He could do it against Pacquiao but its so fast I dont see how Pacquiao could time it.

Mosley and Floyd through a left hook at the same time and Mosley landed first. It wasnt a counter.

Very adept when he's fighting inferior technical fighters.

 

Pac is no way sharp enough to do what a a prime Corely or a 80% Zab Judah could do in the counter punching department.

On top of this, Mayweather ALWAYS grows. He switched to a high guard fighting Zab. He did the same versus Mosley. Due to what is on the line, my guess would be the entire first half of the fight would be faught from the high guard.

Come on man. On this level EVERYONE knows how to "Pure Box". Froch boxed the socks off of a green Pascal. Pac is underrated technically because he goes out of his way to never step in that ring with a technical fighter! This makes him look that much better technically. Name one?

I agree. I am not knocking Pac's speed. Pac is lightning fast in combo. I am doubting his "flinch". Zab and Corely were "gotcha" guys.

I have said it before. Mayweather at times throws a VERY lazy right cross. Nothing on it, low, and he rolls his shoulder back rather than pull it back to his chin. So to your point? Roach will study it, but I think due to the magnitude of this fight Mayweather will be EXTRA careful.

I can completely see the outwork Mayweather option. High volume high accuracy coupled with great footwork to cut off the ring? Could be problems.

I want you all to notice the problem with this right hook that Pac throws (and with the shot that Zab landed against Floyd). It ONLY lands when the opponent is coming forward. Against Zab, Floyd purposely came forward because they wanted to wear Zab down. Floyd's tendency is to punch while backing away (and against Pac, I'm sure he will let Pac be the aggressor for MOST of the fight). This will make it virtually impossible for Pac to land this countershot (although he may land a few times, but not enough to make Floyd change his game plan).

 

I just wanna say that Cotto was more technically sound than Mosley, and actually beat him by outboxing him when he couldn't keep up physically.

And 2nd, Morales is an ATG who was a warrior at heart but was also very well rounded.
