Lets not get crazy, they have different skillsets, Mayweather is better outside & has a better defense but Chavez is better inside & is a far stronger offensive fighter, Chavez is a better body puncher & has the better chin, Floyd has the speed advantage & the better jab... both have great stamina.

This would be a close fight & one that I see Chavez edging out on the cards.

Im not one of those idiots that will bring up pressure fighters, in particular, JL Castillo as to how to beat Floyd, I think he has shown he can handle pressure fighters & proved he can beat Castillo & is the clearly better man over 2 fights but Chavez is an ATG pressure fighter with the technical ability & will not to be discouraged to hang with Floyd & personally, I think he comes on late to bag a decision.

Chavez was a special fighter, better than anyone Floyd has ever fought.

    :good

Are you saying Hatton was better than Chavez? You honestly don't know **** about boxing if that's what you meant. Chavez would have destroyed Hatton inside 6, making him look like a cab driver on his resume. Seriously, wtf is up with esb!

Well if you want to get technical about it... Chavez actually stopped Taylor, TWICE.

I agree, utter craziness to suggest Hatton is even anywhere near Chavez in any aspect of the game :verysad

At 130, Floyd WAS way better than Taylor. He was a better boxer, better defensive fighter and a bigger puncher. Their speed was very close. There is no comparison.

Agreed. Taylor was more apt to recklessly go to war and was sub par defensively compared to Mayweather.

WTF are you talking about? You ought to quit while you're behind. Meldrick Taylor NEVER fought at 130 in the pros.

Perhaps he means in the lb for lb sense.

Of course he didn't, dumbass, and I never said he did. I am saying that Mayweather at 130 is way better than Taylor at 140.

Well, you know, he made a big splash by saying that an almost unanimously accepted ATG Top 40 fighter couldn't carry Mayweather's jockstrap (what's Mayweather's biggest win at 130? Chico Corrales?), so sorry, I'm not giving him that out.
If that's the case, what the hell does Meldrick Taylor have to do with any of this? Chavez was a different fighter at 130 (and certainly better at 135) than the version at 140 that fought Taylor.
So perhaps he's just talking out of his ass.

Like I said, you think Mayweather beats Chavez, fine. But this is an idiotic statement. I don't have time to debate idiots. I'll leave the thread, you can go concern yourself with Floyd's jockstrap. :hi:

What I'm saying is that all these nuthuggers are basing Chavez' chances of beating Mayweather on the fact that PBF had a close fight with JLC, who is considered JC Chavez-Light. Chavez went balls-to-the-wall with Taylor, who is an inferior fighter to Mayweather. It's not a fair assessment on either man's case. Chavez was a great fighter, no doubt, but he did have trouble with movers and quick, technical boxers. Mayweather had everything Taylor and Whittaker had, with more pop in his punches, especially to the body. If you look at his body of work at 130, you would he how good he was.
