Is there a rehydration clause for the Margarito fight?

Margarito came in at 168 in his last welterweight fight. Way over 160. And that was at welterweight.

If he comes in even at 160, I'll be suspicious.

Margarito is nearly 6 feet tall. 160+ is his elite, ripped, slim downed weight

 

But still, it's not as simple as that...Bladegunner is saying anything below 160lbs on fight night will mean there is a re-hydration clause in place. Yet there are numerous factors which I pointed out that could be valid in why he could turn up below 160lbs on fight night other than comparing his weight to that of over a year ago. The guy has kept himself in great shape during his suspension, and looked fit to fight in the opening presser.

You are suggesting that margo is now in the best shape of his career. I highly doubt that. There is no evidence for such a claim. Or is there?

I'm just looking at facts, when was the last time margo came in under 160 for a welterweight fight? And why would he start now when he is fighting at 151 pounds and not 147?

Im talking about fight night weight in case anyone finds it hard to understand.

 

Margarito has had fights at 154lbs where he came in on fight night at 160lbs. That's only 6lbs of rehydration.

So you can't judge it the way you did. You don't know what weight he will come in at. He could train for 165-166 like he could train for a trim 159-160.

Margarito versus Cotto was without doubt the fittest guy in the division. His conditioning was immense.

He was 168 pounds.

What I'm saying is, if he turns up at say 158, he won't be doing it as he wants to.

Why does a guy cut so much weight, that he loses his advantage?

I think it's a simple point.

Maragarito, even at his younger, active peak, never came in under 160. And that was at Welterweight.

I'd expect him to be around 164-upwards fighting at 151. But I'd just about accept 160.

If he came in say 158, I'd say he's definitely under instructions to do so.
