The original Boxing Show is back...tonight on BBC London 94.9...between 8-9pm online, on BBC iPlayer and available as a podcast from tomorrow..I've got a stunner tonight... Robert McCracken and Tom Stalker live from Delhi... Frank Warren, Paul Smith, James DeGale, Nathan Cleverly, Tony Bellew, Kell Brook and Frankie Gavin from today's press conference... Roy Jones Junior... Gary Shaw... Sam Webb... Scott Cardle and Frank Buglioni on the England box-offs this weekend... Ron Boddy... That's a line-up in any language...a one-man show for the people... Stick with me and thanks. Adios.
The show is in Liverpool for the following reasons....... As soon as Warren realised he was going to have Chisora fighting Wladamir Klitscko for the World Heavyweight title along with Sky Box Office showing Khan vs Maidana in Vegas, but knowing he would retain the majority of promotial revenue, he new he didn't need to put a major show on. All he needs to worry about now is selling tickets, and with Groves vs DeGale and Barker vs Macklin failing to come together, he knew he would not be able to sell out in London. So he puts together Smith vs DeGale which does 10,000 on merseyside, and he can save Cleverly, Brook, Gavin and Macklin for tougher fights when the PPV sales depends on himself only. Warren can make an awful lot of money and he is only risking 2 fighters. Thats why he is the best promoter in the world. Buncey correct me if I am wrong.
ello buncey, so what was this so called fantastic fight you talked about last week that we were all waiting to be announced today then?
Buncey.....I will email or text this in but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask Gary Shaw about a UK TV deal for his fights. At worst could he not set up a live or on demand web stream for UK fans. Marquez vs Lopez Perez vs Agbreko, Darchinyan vs Mares Showtime tournement,. Bradley vs Alexander its likley that none of these fights will be on UK tv???
Forgot Sam Webb was fighting this Sat. Just had a look at the bill and Joe Hughes is fighting in his debut. Won the LWW ABA title earlier this year, hope we get to see him. Great show Bunce, looking forward to it.
