It can make a difference in how you end up training. Lefties who fight orthodox tend to have a poor or mediocre right/ rear/power hand, hoya and frazier both being pretty good examples. If he had worked on using his right as a lead he might have been a more balanced two-handed puncher.
Frazier is my second favourite Heavyweight, his relentless pressure is a joy to behold as he inflicts constant pain onto his unfortunate foe. Personally I rate his phenomenal performance & magnificent victory in FOTC as the greatest win at Heavyweight. Very true. The coach running the first gym I ever trained at wanted to unsouthpaw me, but I refused. My right hand would be too useless that way. His son had lots of success as an amateur being a left handed orthy. It was a different ball game in the pros for his son, he ended up losing his first pro fight that was out of state. He was too limited, all he had was a left hook. There was no use of the right hand. Frazier believes in turning lefties "right around", what you call unsouthpaw, or what I call getting Oscar'd or Cotto'd.
