:goodFair enough, can't argue with that. But do we really have to split between them. They're all equals in the heart department.

At least there isn´t much between them.

Like how Frazier got back in the ring with Foreman?

There were three years and several fights between those fights. Patterson got in with him immediately. And Patterson was blown out faster and in even more devastating fashion.

    Nice thread Pachilles.

Frazier isn't on the tip-top of my favorites, but I respect the hell out of him, and could even call myself a fan. If you respect boxing, you have to respect him.

Ali had the gab (and a lot more too, don't get me wrong), but I'm a fan of fighters, not otherwordly crossover stars of the universe. Frazier was honest to himself and to us. I could never ask more of any man.

Patterson avoided Liston for years though until he had to face him.

Honestly how can you split the hearts of fighters like Frazier,Ali,Patterson or Holyfield and more importantly why would you want to?

Their courage and will is part of what makes them and boxing as a sport so great.

Patterson didn't avoid him. D'Amato did. Huge distinction.

That's probably true but Patterson was clearly wary of Sonny as well (we all know about him and the disguise) and must have at least been reluctant to meet him.

It says a lot about his heart that he twice faced a man he knew he could never beat but for Bohdi to say Floyd had more heart than Frazier because it took Joe 3 years to again meet Foreman is drawing rather a large bow imo.

How could one not like him? A bread and butter, spit and sawdust, throwback with more heart than any man deserves, and a helluva fighter to boot.

I never said though. I just pointed out the differences. See a post from me above.

Btw. Patterson said before the second fight he would offer Liston a third fight if he manages to beat him.

There was not a lick of "yellow" or cowardice in either Patterson or Frazier...both were men's men in bravely and in futility going up against men they had to chance of winning against in Liston and Foreman respectively. Both were warriors.

Frazier took a far bigger beating. He kept getting up after absorbing monster shots ... Floyd folded like a house of cards ...

Floyd was a physically smaller man than even Frazier...and only physically.
