Actually, Wepner gets stopped on one big cut. Stretching from the point of his chin to the prow of his forehead. Seen V?

Of all the wonders of the world, none were so magnificient as the almighty Chuck Wepner. This was a man who inspired the American classic film Rocky, schooled a green Foreman, retired Sonny Liston, thrashed Ernie Terrell, and left Muhammad Ali on ***** street. For years, he held the ever so prestigious New State title, and even pummeled a very dangerous fellow New Jersian in Terry Hinke. He also showed the great Randy Neuman a thing or too. His nick name, " The Bayonne Bleeder " derives from the bloody messes that he made of his opponents.

There would have been nothing to stop Chuck from being a dominant heavy weight champion in the 1930's. Max would have been a mismatch, as would have Carnera, Braddock, Schmeling, Sharkey, and a young Joe Louis. This was truly one of boxing's all time greats, and a credit to the sovereign state of New Jersey.

Baer knocks out Wepner in 6 after 3 three knockdowns and afterwards Chuck says that Baer hit him harder than Foreman or Liston.

Why do you keep doing these threads? Wepner was a simple journeyman and his "classic" with Ali was pretty much just a rabbit punch exhibition on his part, ending with his ugly mug getting waved off by the referee. And that was his best fight.
