Fair play to Tyson for this. Needs to really work and get himself into good physical shape. Then with Steward on board, if it becomes permanent, he can really make an impact.

Been hoping they would get together for ages im sure Steward has had a look at Fury before?

Either way if he goes with Steward then he will get inmuch better shape and he will develop his already decent jab so it is world class.

WOW guys, everyone agrees and is talking positively. well done, that makes a change from slagging him off. Its nice to see.

Tyson has potential, ive always thought. Hes a big tall lad with good hand speed and decent power with age on his side. If he can work on fitness it will improve him so much. Balance, footwork, defence and the jab need to be worked on desperately.

I think one of his main problems is that he is so top heavy with those skinny legs and flabby torso it sends his balance off. So that basically comes down to conditioning again.

Anyway good to see him trying to improve himself and well have to wait and see what happens.

    Good luck tyson

As everyone has already said this is a great move for him when it looked like he was falling out of love with the sport. He gets a lot of stick on here but I think he could become a world champ with the right guidance. Steward will get him to fight to his strengths.

    Well done to Tyson Fury.

He has accepted that he needs better training and has shown that he is willing to go to america to get top notch training and sparring. This is the exact thing that Enzo should have done after the Bruce Scott fight. Enzo was knocked down and barely won the fight with a power left hook. His deficiencies were glaring but his power bailed him out and he started to believe his power and believe his own hype as WBU "world champ". He went on to fight garbage cans for the next 10-15 fights, learning nothing and continuing to show the same glaring deficiencies in every fight. During this time he could have been seriously developing under the tutilage of a serious american trainer like Sweart who has worked with big men and knows how to get them fighting to their advantages. We all know what happened when Enzo went up against Haye/Afolabi/Lebedev/Frenkel... all fighters that I believe Enzo had the beating of if he had ironed out his flaws instead of staying in his comfort zone fighting garbage.

Fury is doing teh right thing here and deserves the utmost respect.

That is it, but he will now become an elite fighter if he follows instructions and works hard.

Delighted for him. There isn't a more suitable manager in the world for him to get. He has hit the jackpot here if he can make this permanent. It's up to Fury now. All the best to him.

Great news. This is what Fury needs. I think Manny will like Fury's personality. He certainly won't ever have to plead with Fury in the corner urging him to be more aggressive ;)

I would love to see the guy in fighting condition, there is no excuse for a man/boxer his age to be carrying that weight around the torso.

Manny is perfect for him. Balance, jab, conditioning will come in time IF he takes it serious.
Most of all if there is genuine one punch power in the man Steward will find it.

everybody seems to think the exact same thing about fury and his development as a fighter, so much so that it seems kind of obvious.

Why couldnt fury see this and do somthing about it earlier

oh well better late than never, im looking forward to his next fight to see any improvements and will be more looking forward to the weigh in to see if he is better shape.

    Great Move

Pure and Simple, Manny loves tall fighters and brings out the best in them.
