yes bute rebounded and has improved, even. but andrade was serving it up to him on a platter in the second fight. he was just charging in w/ his face exposed at chest level. he's just as tall as lucian and his head was level w/ lucian's chest most of the fight...right in bute's wheelhouse and that left he caught him w/ was a thing of beauty.

for all of kelly's flaws, not fight tall isnt one of them. i actually think that a body shot is more likely to stop kelly than a head shot even though lucian certainly has enough power to do that. lucian goes to the body about as good as anyone in the sport right now.

all i'm saying is don't sleep on kelly. kelly has been beaten soundly on points by fighters w/ similar attributes as bute and bute has been left for dead in the corner by a fighter w/ similar attributes as kelly.

it would be great if this fight happened next; and no it won't be a walk in the park for Bute; far from it.

I think at 168lbs. Andrade is better then Pavlik. I just think that at that weight Pavlik would have no size advantage what so ever over Andrade who would simply walk through everything Pavlik throws at him.

I'm also not sure the 168lbs version of Pavlik would beat Sakio Bika.

But other then that. I agree.

Looks like the tentative date for the Bute-Pavlik fight is March 19th.

Bute refuses to talk about the possibility of this fight happening until he takes care of Brinkley tonight.

    two things,

1- Bute showed he improved as a fighter by knocking out Andrade in 4.

2- Bute beat the count. Even if Andrade followed the rules, he beat the count and the fight was over.

    1. i agree he has improved and noted that in my post above.

    2. that's debatable. bute was out. the ref had to stop and re instruct andrade.

and i'll edit to reassert that, while yes bute has improved, andrade was asking for it in the second fight the way he was charging in face first w/ his face at chest level. kelly doesnt do that. he's just as easy to find, but he fights much taller than andrade.

Bute-Pavlik would be done if Kelly had not lost against Martinez. For the fight to happen, we need to see Bute win tonight (any way is good) and Pavlik in November (in an impressive way). The fight will be possible only then.

Pavlik is not afraid of challenges. He wasn't afraid to face Taylor and he accepted to fight Hopkins even if he was much smaller and not in a good physical condition. I think he will accept to face Bute because he wants big fights and he's gutsy.

At SMW or LHW Pavlik's gonna get stopped. No way he evades Bute's uppercuts und bodyshots which finished Miranda and Andrade.

Andrade and Bika are not better than Pavlik, and it isn't really even close, or open to debate. It is a ludicrous assertion.

If you take KP, at 168, no yet a comfort zone for him, and put him against the constant pressure and hard head of Andrade, or, the head butt, elbows and shoulders dirty flying style of Bika, it could be a different thing. But, i agree, Pavlik is way more talented than those two.

Pavlik fight is a waste of time, Pavlik is done anyway he should rematch Lockett..:yep Bute will get no credits for beating a little guy like Pavlik.

Bute is looking for good money fights before fighting Ward when the Super Six is over.

Pavlik is the best $ option available right now.

It depends of his next fight. Let's be honest, Pavlik was not the shade of himself against Martinez. If he comes in great shape against Vera and dominates him, fans will understand than the real Pavlik is back.

Anyway, Bute has not many opponents to choose between. Pavlik is a big name in the boxing world.

So you think Pavlik would beat Andrade?

    How?
