Is it fair for a boxer to beat an GREAT boxer & for that alone gets into the HOF?

In a way I find this unfair. I mean, a great boxer is bound to lose at some point, that's just the way boxing works... But sometimes it seems I guess that the first person to defeat a great boxer is awarded to get into the HOF. Just wanted to know your thoughts on this..

Elaborate on why one great fighter cant be enough to qualify for hall of fame.

IMO i think it is good because there are and will only be a handful of fighters who are great its just that when fighters are past theri prime weight drained and such that this should go against them.

Such as Amir Khan vs Barrera etc.

 

I said a regular boxer, not a great boxer. For example, Antonio Tarver. I'm not saying Tarver is a bum, he's a good boxer but besides the past prime Jones he hasn't done squat.

Vernon Forrest is another example too. He's undeniably a skillful boxer, but besides the Shane wins what else has he done? Win a title at 147 and 154? Anyone can do that.

I know. But I've seen articles and other so called experts proclaiming that they should be in the HOF.

 

I agree Tarver is probably one of the top 5 heavyweights of the last ten years but not great. He is another wasted talent and could have acheived alot more.

IMO Shane just falls short of a great fighter he has some good solid wins but think he needs one more top name to be considered great, however he is still one of the best 30 boxers of the last 10-15 years.

Fighters shouldnt be inducted into the hall of fame if fighting old, overweight or weight drained fighters who are shot and vulnerable to a one sided beatdown.:deal

Vernon Forrest is another fighter that had potential to get in but didnt make it for obvious reasons.

Buster Douglas is fully deserving of his place in the HOF.
