Round 9

Bute is loose and relaxed, throwing right jabs and walking through Brinkley's wide counters. Hard right hooks start to move Brinkley a bit but he stays right in the pocket throwing hard with both hands. Bute gives chase without any hurry, throwing the left from across the ring. When he gets close, Bute softens Brinkley up with a couple of right hooks. One final uppercut has Brinkley on his back and out for good.

 

Brinkley is simply a limited athlete with pedestrian physical qualities. Little Pac would KO him in about 7 rounds even with Jesse entering the ring as a SMW.

He's a bum.


Boxing has deteriorated .. when few athletes are taking up the sport you end up with weaker and weaker performances. Bute should have been pushed into the Super Six. So easy to look good against dismal competition. He needs a test. Fighting and beating limited athletes like Andrade and Miranda should mean moving on to face ANYONE except a Jesse Brinkley by now. At least move up and fight Pascal or a bigger bum then the SMW bums he keeps agreeing to face.

Bute is well on the way to equaling other great hometown fighters like Brian Neilsen or the other ice rink champ that waited a decade to step up and face someone with a pulse.

I dunno, didn't enjoy that fight at all. I like Bute.. but he should have ended that **** 7 rounds ago.
