I don't think Bute would fight the way he did tonight against a real fighter.. and he hasn't in the past.. he knew he had a C-Level guy in the ring with him and could get away with ****.

Brinkley isn't a legit 168lb'er, and Bute knew it.

    :think

i can see ward doing more clinching in the fight for certain spurts along with avoiding just jumping in to land...if he just jumps in and shoots a right or tried a combo, he might catch that counter left uppercut a few too many times. I think it would be a hell of a fight and I'd say Ward by UD.

Seriously, I think it's an off night for Bute. He took too much time to get started. Brinkley did a good job at the beginning of the fight, moving instead going toe to toe, as Bute's team expected. Bute was far too relaxed before the fight. The crowd too!

    Career best performance from Brinkley.

Bute's killer instinct seems to have rusted a bit, or maybe he's just become a slower starter? Some great body work from Bute today though, his uppercut is best in the game, second only to JMM.

good point....he's sure to face the winner of the super 6 so i'm wondering if Froch, Ward, or Abraham would be able to hurt Bute as bad as LA had him hurt.

I think Bute should have gotten away from the punch him and Larouche had prepared (the uppercut underneath Brinkley's reaching right). He tried to do what he had done against Zuniga, Andrade and Miranda, which is closing the show with a single shot prepared beforehand during training camp.

Had he let his hands go a little more, throwing in combinations, he would probably have KOd Brinkley earlier.

... and this is coming from a big Bute fan. You gotta admit though that these uppercuts looked nasty as hell.

I hope you guys realise Bute was most likely trying to go some rounds, the man hasn't gone more than 4 rounds professionally in about 2 years.

Ward stopping Bute? He's the only man to have won against Miranda without koing him. He dominated Green without hurting him.

Could you be stupid alone please?

Green took the same exact beating that Kessler did. You make what you will of that.

    What?

I don't think so. Not counting royalties and investments I made $105,000 in the last six weeks. I'm slightly over $400K for 2010.

I left traditional biz at 32 years of age.

    I'm not exactly hurting man.:D

Did either guy win more than 1 round against Ward?

    Both got their asses kicked.
