Any brits here go to it? I was there. It was pretty average. Never seen so many TapOut and Affliction meatheads with tattoo's in one place. Guys doing press ups. Guys hitting punching machines. Pretty much alot of steroid induced meathead douchbaggery going on. Was kind of amusing though as i had a bright red M-1 Clinch Gear Hoody repping Fedor. And i had dudes staring and pointing at me because of it. Last UFC Expo that il go to thats for dam sure. Seni shits on it.
Me and my mate were gonna go but it seem any top people were there i.e. Cotto. I saw a video on yesterdays one and it looks like there were loads of top dogs.
Randy Couture was there yesterday. Matter of fact it appears Friday was the better day??! UFC got it backwards from what i can tell.
I thought about going to this and my gym was getting a trip on to go see it but all the lads that signed up were the dickheads so I declined. Scurla probably saw them as they are the Affliction/Tapout tattooist dickheads who are more interested in looking at themselves in the mirror and talking about how they fought 5/6 guys last night and they were ninja's ect.... Not been to Seni but it always looks decent...any views?
Cotto, Cuture, JDS, Evans, Edgar, Maynard, Wand etc were all there. Today it was Nelson, Franklin and Alves from what I know.
Seni 2008 was off the meat rack. Best Seni iv ever been too. Tons of stars there and some of the best Muay Tahi tournys iv ever seen. This year was good as well. I got my picture with quite a few of guys from WSM, Zavickas, Mark Felix, and Sven Carlsen. Watched Mark Felix break the one arm deadlift record. Saw some stars from yesteryear like Geoff Capes as well as a host of other athletes from WSM. Got my pic taken with MMA legend Royce Gracie. And also with Gegard Mousasi. Met Tim Witherspoon who was a good laugh. There wasnt as many stands as 2008's Seni and the tournys weren't as good but by and large it was much better than the UFC's. The stands at the UFC Expo were sparse and pretty much just full of UFC merchandise and goons taking their pictures next to UFC title belts. It wasnt really a Martial Arts Expo as the Seni is with all the pagentry and shows that the Seni has. But strictly just all about UFC PR. I only went because i wanted to see Miguel Cotto but met Wayne McCullough instead which was cool. It was weird to see Wayne walking through crowds of people and not one of these idiots knew who he was.
Only guys i saw today were Wand, JDS and Groves. The rest were a bunch of TUF guys that i barely recognised or even cared about. The UFC charged more money for the Saturday and yet the Friday was the better day as most of the fighters were there.
Went on the Friday, I had a good time but not really because of the expo anyway. The expo was just a big t-shirt sale really, dissapointing. Met Cotto, Randy, Wandy, Eddie Bravo, Alves and Jon Jones outside the tube, which was cool though. Was dissapointed with it really though, but by the sounds of it glad I went on Friday, don't know what I expected to be fair.
Thats precisely what it was. It wasn't an Expo at all. There were hardly any stands and literally **** all going on apart from massive queues for fighters signatures. As an Expo id say it was a complete failure. What pissed me off even more was all the PRIDE banners everywhere and apart from Wanderlai there were no PRIDE fighters. The PRIDE merchandise was just rubbish and looked cheap and tacky. As well as the DVD's that most of the fans didn't seem to have a clue about.
