I have heard a lot of statements come from losing fighters. Briggs stated that Vitali was better than and hit harder than Lewis and Foreman. I don't think he hits harder than Lewis or Foreman but then again I was not in the ring with the Vitali

What do you think of the comment and what is your opinion

I seriously doubt he hits harder either. Yeah, Briggs was just being a nice guy to the man he got a shellacking from. He was a good sport. That's all. I'm sure he does respect Vitali. I doubt he means those statements though.

well..think is..briggs is bigger now..so i am guessing he can take a punch better then he could in the past...i would say vitali tonight is definitly better then the foreman that briggs fougth....but Lewis? not so sure.

He will use it as fact.

Just look at Lewis obliterate Peak Briggs in 5 rounds, Vitali's power doesn't compare.

you can argue that lewis opened up more because he was in fact hurt by briggs...you can also argue that briggs is bigger now and can take a punch better....

    Briggs is in fight mode.

In a press confrence recently he was getting hyped and said he was the greatest of all times.

Some fighters need to make themselves believe these things to mentally prepare themselves.

A familiar refrain. Saying things like this is an attempt by the losing fighter to elevate their own status and dissuade critics by lavishly praising their victors. After all, if Vitali was so magnificent, how could one blame Briggs for losing?

He just got a nice payment (While getting a shellacking). Of course he's going to praise Vitali in the post-fight interview

Yeah you are guessing, but you aren't trying very hard. If being bigger gives you a better chin then Kirk Johnson must be invincible. lol

He said Klitschko hit harder than Foreman. He only named Foreman on the punching power comment. I guess getting trashed in 5 rounds in your physical prime doesn't stack up to a points loss a decade later. I will say this proves he is at least equal to Marvin Hart

Briggs got beat by Klitschko's atheleticsim. The Klitschko's are solid, fundamental fighters that need to be tested but there's hardly anyone in the division that can match or stay with them over 12 rounds.

Prime Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe and Lennox Lewis could beat both brothers IMO based on overall boxing skill. The only way to beat the Klitschko's is to pressure them, stay inside and take away their punching room. Both brothers can jab, move and box with decent power. More power than Foreman, Shavers or Liston? I don't think so. You have to be in shape with a dedicated plan to beat Vitali or Wlad.

I certainly feel that Briggs being bigger now than he was in his younger days, he's able to take a better shot.....

Briggs however likely feels he's as good now than he's ever been, and with that in his mindset and Vitali having dominated round after round like no other fighter has ever done before......I can understand why Briggs would say what he did, though I surely dont agree with his statements.
