Manny Pacquaio vs Pernell Whitaker

Whitaker by SD or close, but clear UD

 

Whitaker would ****ing clown him. As fast as Pacquiao is, Whitaker would still find a way to duck and dodge 90% of his punches, get out of the corner and run around. Problem with Whitaker, especially in the early days is judges didn't look at that stuff because he was on the backfoot and wasn't counter punching. Whitaker would've had so much success today, he clowned his opponents and boxed them like a master.

 

Im not high on slick boxers w/o power just because history proves that the best fighters in history are Boxer/Punchers. SRR, Duran, SRL, Armstrong, Louis, Sanchez, Arguello, Hearns, I could go on forever . With a few exceptions JCC losing to prime Pea and Ali with his exploits against Liston. The odds are stacked against slick boxers with limited pop. And Pac is very underrated as a boxer.

As for the fight itself, Pac could impose his will just by walking through Peas punches and unlike Chavez Pacs got tremendous hand and foot speed.

Pea can win by making Pac miss, i can see that aswell but hed have to be the first one to avoid Pacs onslaught and not get caught.

I'd pick Pac to win this by decision. Pernell can dodge alot of punches, maybe the best in history. But he's never had to face the combination of speed, power, punch volume, and relentlessness of Pac's attack. Add Pac's footwork and strong chin to that equation. His offensive output simply won't be enough to beat Pac. His lack of power can't back up Pac as well (37% KO rate). I believe Pac is the taller and longer reach of the two.
