Hathaway gets beaten soundly. Wilkes gets his ass taken down a lot Hardy gets his lights put out and worst of all, Bisping wins. Depressing night, thank god 121's next week.
yeah shite ufc but was good to see the hathaway, hardy and wilks lose, bisping won due to akiyama being totally shite apart from that shite card but not too disappointing
I hope Akiyama gets released. Biggest disappointment ever. I can foresee Brock's ass getting flattened and myself falling into a deep MMA depression.
Bit harsh on Akiyama aint ya? Guy stands there and trades and has been in 3 exciting fights imo, Needs to work on his stamina and game plans though
Akiyama needs to drop to WW IMO. He could make weight and his power would be pretty concussive there.
He also needs to think about using his Judo and submission game instead of fighting like a ****** using his weakest skillset.
anyone can stand and throw shitty right hands without good snap or technique for 3 rounds, his last 2 fights have been terrible performances, he never once attempted a takedown, never attempted to slip the 50 right hands bisping connected with, apart from throwing the right hand his game plan involved the odd left hook and that was it, it was more like novice amateur boxing than mma, ill give him one thing he has a good chin
Exactly. Isn't he supposed to be this ace Judo practitioner? Funny, because I've hardly seen him use much Judo in the Belcher, Leben and Bisping bouts. I've seen a bit, but not much; he seems to prefer getting into brawls, were he's usually taking 5 punches to land 1 of his own.
I like Akiyama but he has the worst game plans in MMA. His stand up defence is **** it consists of letting the other guy punch you until his hands hurt. Wasn't he training with Greg Jackson for this fight? As much as Jacksons fighters annoy me now you would think Akiyama would have done something different.
Akiyama is in exciting fights and should now be demoted to gatekeeper but I think he can beat a number of low level guys. He can expose some guys with pretty records but no substance. The card was terrible for British MMA. Bisping did well to set himself apart in terms of level.
