He's been as insignificant as a two-weight world champion can possibly be.

If he plans on taking on some decent opponents then I'm glad. Better late than never I suppose.

LHW is his division. He only took the CW world title fight because Campillo and Cloud pulled out in the build up, so Fragomeni the WBC CW champ was his third choice and at a new weight

How has he been insignificant with his excellent record?
Also remember that Campillo the then WBA champ and Cloud the IBF champ backed out of fighting Erdei

I could see him beating Cloud, Shumenov, Johnson etc. I think Pascal would beat him though and would give the edge to Dawson because of the age difference.

Bute would be to dangerous for Bute at this time. But you would have to give Bute credit if he did step up and try against Erdei, but I dont think he would when there are easier fights like Pascal (and thats not a joke), who is also a good fighter

His age is against him now, but there is a reason he was avoided, and it may soon become apparent

F-Off! Erdei was never avoided he was an expert record padder who had no interest in taking on the toughest challenges. He is getting old now so he is probably on the down slide and due his defeat if he dare even steps up in class.

He's degraded himself to american-level competition, he can't be supported.

What excellent record? If every champion had fought his calibre of competition, thered be a lot more undefeated fighters. During his time at 175 there have been a lot of good fighters he could have faced but he hasn't.

Then WBA champ Campillo backed out of a unification against him.
IBF champ Cloud backed out of a unification against him.
Thats why he ended up fighting WBC CW champ Fragomeni to win the title away.
How can Erdeis record be padded :think. He beat Gonzalez, who was highly rated by the Ring after beating Michalczewski, he beat undefeated Garay twice who went on to become the WBA champ. He beat Sahnoune former WBA champ who was still world class and world rated, Lakatos who has only been beaten by undefeated fighters, P Murdoch who was a good enough fighter for D Green to fight after, T Ulrich, D Santiago who after Erdei KOd him, Santiago was then a good enough fighter for highly rated Tarver to fight, Abron who after Erdei beat was good enough for Y Mack, P C Ajamu, V Brudov and undefeated Mikhalkin to fight, Barashian who has a KO win over Ulrich. When Cloud and Campillo backed out of fighting him he went up a weight division and beat the WBC champ away in Italy.
Now thats not a record padder, with 11 defences before relinquishing and a 2 weight world champ

    Read below.
Remember Gonzalez was considered one of the best LHWs in the world at the time for beating Michalczewski,

American level competition didnt want to fight him, remember Cloud backed out of fighting him. But Erdei has beaten good European opposition in Sahnoune, Fragomeni, Ulrich
