There are no rival networks in Germany. I suggest anyone believing in this non-sense excuse take some time and research the German TV market and look what stations are broadcasting boxing and look at their financing power.

The fight - if it ever happens - will be shown on RTL and nowhere else.

There are other channels that show fights in germany. Its not inconvievable that ARD would bid more they have a contract with Sauerland who promote Haye.

Haye should of accepted Klitsckos offer if he really wanted the fight, but on the other hand Klitscko should of accepted Hayes offer. Both were acceptable.

I am down on Haye because he called them out for a year and didn't back it up when given the opportunity. but to claim the Klitsckos as being completley inoccent in the whole process is ridiclious.

The truth is Vitali and Wladamir's deal with RTL is up after the Chisora fight, this means they can accept offers from all German TV networks for the fight and if Haye wants to duck he needs a new excuse.

Think a second about what you're saying. Apply some logic.

ARD's deal with Sauerland lasts until 2012. Sauerland is guaranteeing them 10 boxing events to be broadcast every 12 months. ARD paid millions of EUROs for this exclusive contract, for fighters like Povetkin/Abraham/Valuev/Huck. Their budget for spending money on boxing as channel financed by tax payers is already fully spent. There is no money left for "bidding".

If the Klits contract with RTL is up, how on earth do you think ARD who gets their money from the tax payers will be able to justify outbidding RTL for the Klitschkos, when they are already locked into a contract with Sauerland until 2012?

For Christ's sake folks, just a little logic.

First of all....how do you know ARD have know more money for boxing??

As in the case of the BBC and ITV in the UK, due to the economic downturn and fall in advertising revenues globally, the BBC which is funded by the goverment/taxpater are in a far more stable financial position than its competitor ITV which is funed by advertising revenue.

In the past 2 years the BBC have outbid ITV for all major sporting events set for terrestrial TV apart from England Qualifiers and Champions League.

Premier League, Championship Football, F1, Wimbledon, Ryder Cup, Olympics all on BBC not ITV.

and even if it is the case that RTL can outbid ARD, then it doesn't really matter. The Klitsckos should just call Hayes bluff, as according to you RTL would just win it anyway.

Alas Rob, I won't. I think he wants the fight, but he wants it on his terms. If he fights Chagaev (which would be a real surprise since he won't get licensed to fight in the UK) he’ll have fought three top ten guys in his last four fights. Not too shabby considering Vitali's fought two complete non-entities in his last two.

I’d rather Adamek, which is the only real alternative to a fighter with Vitali or Wlad for me. If it’s not Adamek and it’s not the brothers, I’ll just assume he doesn’t fancy the job and he’s cashing out before he loses.

what could these terms be. If he is getting 50% including the improved German money what else can be expect. Beyond that his demands would be unreasonable.

Haye is running out of hiding space... might have to either fight a Klitschko next or retire...

Well we'll see I guess if Haye - Wlad ever happens, I would be highly surprised if this is broadcast anywhere else but on RTL. Haye knows by then all his naive fans will have forgotten his "rival TV station" excuse and noone will be there to call his lie.

If ARD is ready to push Haye they would broadcast Haye - Ruiz or Haye - Harrison, wouldn't they. I mean their contractual promoter Sauerland is co-promoting those events, getting the rights is just a simple phone call away. Guess what: They have no interest in Haye. Haye's fights are broadcast nowhere in Germany, neither on ARD or anywhere else. He is completely unknown to the average ******ed German boxing fan.

If ARD is getting ready to bid on Wlad - Haye, wouldn't they already promote Haye in order to maximize future viewership? :?

I’d guess that he fights when he wants to fight. I’m not agreeing with how Haye’s handled it – I think it was a crappy piece of PR. And the Harrison fight is a total waste of everyone, including Harrison’s, time. But obviously controlling negotiations is an important part of the fight for him, same as it seems to be with K2.

Other than that, I don’t think Haye has any right to ask for more than a 50-50 split, especially if the TV issue is resolved.

Yes it will be on RTL but you must admit Haye/Sauerland have a pount. The Klitsckos are limiting the amount of revenue that could be made. Suaerland have told Haye that ARD would pay more than 2.5million Euros for a Klitscko fights. At the very least it will get RTL to up there bid for the fight.

I looked into this last time you said it wasnt shown on german tv and it was by a satelite braodcaster who will also carry the Harrison fight.

To say Haye is completly unknown is untrue. His fight agaisnt Valuev got massive viewers. I agree with allot of what you say but your arguement is so one sided towards the Klitsckos its untrue.
