Would you back Larry Holmes to beat all four of Lennox, Bowe, and the Klits?

That is sooooooo flawed it's disturbing. Go and work out the odds/statisical losses he should have had for his first 48 fights, then look at the actual.

Indeed, because Holmes has lost a decision and they haven't Holmes simply HAS to lose a decision to them, yet despite never been stopped early he (Holmes)might lose by early stoppage

I think he beats Bowe and Vitali almost always. I'd take him more often than not against Wlad and I'd give him a slight edge over Lewis (Although I'd think Lewis would get one in a series). A key punch that I see for Holmes against these giants, which would set up the rest of his offense, is the jab to the body. Larry had a good one and in his prime was quick enough to execute it without getting a right hand dropped on him.

Lennox and Wlad is more up in the air for me, although I'd say Lennox has a better chance due to a more varied punch arsenal and superior lateral movement. I think he outspeeds and outleads Vitali for all 12 rounds though, and I think he gets Bowe to fold mentally from the outside. Bowe has a chance, and if he applies good pressure then he can work his fantastic inside game, I just don't see it happening.

    Yes. Holmes beats all four.
He was better than all of them and can rally to win hard fights.

I think Bowe might give him his toughest fight.

Not saying he does beat all four, but he would be the favorite in my mind simply because he had superior hand speed, superior punch volume and condition, excellent boxing skill and ring generalship, solid footwork, solid chin and heart, and that championship will to win. I think his toughest test would actually be Lennox.

    V. Klitschko- Holmes W12

Vitaly is far from being "chinny", he's never been knocked down. I see Holmes outboxing him but not dropping him. Cuts? Sure, I could see Holmes cutting V.K. up and maybe stopping him in the late rounds on cuts... but he's not putting him down and out IMO.

    W. Klitschko- Holmes W12

Wladimir is a bit more technical than Vitaly but not as powerful or as durable. Holmes could possibly drop him but I doubt it happens.

    Lewis- Holmes W12

A very good boxing match. I see Holmes doing just a little more to get a close decision. Holmes rocks Lewis but doesn't put him down. Holmes may have to get up off the canvas to do it.

    Bowe- Holmes W12

Another very good boxing match. Bowe was a little more durable than Lewis IMO and just a little bit more technical. Holmes might rock a few times but Bowe ain't going down. Holmes wins a very close decision.

These guys are all top heavyweights that pose a legitmate threat...Holmes would surely duck them all to fight Marvis Frazier for more money.

If he was forced at gun point to face them, he stands a good chance of outboxing Bowe and Vitali. Wlad and Lewis would be very interesting with their reach, jab, and ability to impose their fight on their opponents.

1 - i never said VITLAY was chinny - i said WALDO is + VITLAY has been knocked-down by fatty BUM golfer Corrie S.

2 - No ****in' way is VITLAY more powerful then WALDO.
WALDO has one-punch-power, VITLAY wears ppl down over MANY rounds.
VITLAY hit shot, GASSED, shot, old, SHOT Briggs with his biggest-Haymakers And still couldnnt drop him. :rofl:rofl WALDO would of KTFO that SHOT Briggs who had NO-DEFENSE in 5 Roundz or less. :deal

Holmes would beat the easy to hit Bowe in a close decision but would lose to Lewis and the Klitschko's I think by KO. Holmes best opponents (only a few in there primes) Cooney and Shavers were strong punchers but not near the complete package of the Klitschko's or Lewis in fact even the fighters Holmes did not fight in rematches or defend or unify against (Weaver,Spoon,Thomas,Coetzee) were not as good as some of the fighters Lewis and the Klitschko's beat

Holmes was the best of his day vs a very weak playing field and still avoided many

Why did I figure that you were incapable of getting through a Holmes thread without regurgitating this?
