How Bad Ass is Andre Ward?

Ward's headbutt hometown victory on Kessler shades what could be otherwise a flawless resume by Ward.

Headbutts seem to be the trend lately though.

Would love to see Bute vs Ward in neutral territory with no headbutts or no weird officiating involved.

 

I would like to take the time to **** on people who post such trash.. I mean If Bute can fight 15 strait times in Quebec, be touted as the #1 SMW great champ and be talked about like he is indistructable.. But I mean... Im all for that until he meets a real champ like.. Stelegz, Ward, Froch or Abrahamn...

Till then Would people please stop haitin on Ward fighting his 4th consecutive fight in his home town.. Big ****en Deal.. I would just like people to respect Ward the same what Bute gets it.. Why should Ward be Nailed to the cross lol (excuse my expression) for fighting at home and Bute is hailed as the next best thing...

Lets get real or this is really going to turn into something else..

 

Although we love our boxers in Quebec, media and fans do agree this is getting ridiculous. Bute should get out of here and see some real action. Super 6 really ****in' sucks IMO. On the other hand, Pascal fought Froch in Nottingham and never backs down from any challenges and he still is getting lower attendences than Lucian. Business is business and you fight where people want to see you.

Bute and Ward are comparable though as they both have strong fanbase in their hometown. This is the only reason why they fight home everytime.

As for Ward not getting respect, Bute's in the same situation due to Marlon B.Wright questionable reffing in Andrade's fight.

yeah, but bute isn't in a competition where the competitors have to travel to make it fair. ward is!

 

He's a lot badder than Bad Chad Dawson and mean enough to become the next Executioner.

 

Boxing is a business.

Bute is fightins where he's getting paid most. He's getting paid 2-3 times as much in Quebec as he'd get paid anywhere else right now. And his opponent usually gets paid 2-3 times as much as he would in his home town/country too!

Unless Bute is paid at least $1.5m, why should he fight anywhere else? And why would his opponent not want to get paid a lot more by fighting in Quebec?

Unless Bute + Good opponent = bigger draw in good opponent's back yard than in Bute's back yard, clearly, the fight is likely to take place in Montreal!

 

i agree. bute is the champ so everyone has to come to him. unless someone offers him a deal to travel that makes business sense.

 

It's not because Bute is The Champ. He isn't. It's because he's a bigger draw in his home town fighting a top opponent than any of his opponents in their home town fighting Bute! That's why Dawson was going to come to fight him in Montreal (where he fought Pascal too) (It also helps that Quebec is on EST...)

bute's the champ when he's fighting contenders. against another world title holder, the fight would take place were ever it made the most business sense.

 

Its funny how a lot seem to say its not a big deal that ward fights at home yet fighters like Calzaghe are ridiculed for having so many fights in the UK (many of which where not actually in wales).
