I think that Bute Should fight is mandatories every two mounths till the IBF can't not provide anything and give him the belt for good! then he could move on! Seriously , Bute know it , his team know it and his fans know it! we need a big name!
The super six sux they F**ed Kessler and Dirrell and now Froch and Abraham are almost qualified for semifinals When 1 of these guys was suppose to drop out.
Dawson coming off a loss is not the right move anymore. He should fight Kelly, then go after Pascal, and just move up in weight, if he feels he can physically fight at 175.
Beating up an old man, at lhw, who can not fight a full fight anymore is not going to do much for Bute.
I agree with that, but Hopkins is not who he should fight, he gains nothing by it. He should just really push hard for Pascal.
Bute vs Brinkley showed us one of two things, either: 1- when Bute think that his opponent is not at his level he dont focus as usual in the fight. or 2- he have big problem with somebody who doesnt attack, waits until Bute try to attack and then counter Bute. Either of those, Bute needs to improve for his next fight. If the first, he will sometime get surprise and beat by an upset fight. If the second, if he doesnt improve and fight a proper counter punsher he will get beat. But I'm sure that team Bute saw that and more and will adapt for the next fight.
I didn't know anything official, I just remember Hopkins saying he would turn Bute, into the Canadian, Kelly Pavlik. They are very similiar fighters so it was a good point by Bernard. If he did get an offer I am not suprised he turned it down at this point, if he is going to mess up his weight, don't do it for somebody many years out his prime. Do it for the top man at the division.
If I were Dirrell's promoter, I wouldn't put Dirrell in front of Bute for his comeback fight. After a brain injury and a long rest, you need tune up fights. If Bute calls Dirrell now, people will laugh at him: look at the guy calling injured opponents! Dirrell is not an option for the 6 next months.
