I used to think the stories about these rehydration clauses were just bull**** made up by haters. The fact that they actually do exist shows how dirty this sport we all love really is.

I think there are only rehydration clauses if a fighter doesn't make weight in the first place. See Joan Guzman for details..

BS! and that coming from arum who is a proven liar:-(, i would believe it if its coming from a trusted source(honest source/media, not the one on arum's payroll)

theres already a catchweight clause/dehydration clause, i think we'd see margo around only 150+ in fight night..until the weight in fight night is announce i'll hold judgement but if margo doesn't go above 160 lbs, then you know whats up:hat

not true....IBF actually has them....they weigh the fighter on fight day, and he can't weight more than 10 lbs. over the max weight (like 157 for a WW fight day weight is ok, but 158 isn't)

i know it's not WBC or WBA...but but shows they do exist

Isn't that just an IBF rule and not part of the actual contract?:huh

point is, if a commission can do it, no reason why in cannot be contractual (i.e. see: drug testing)

no one's allowed to read the contract details anyways.

maybe mosley was only allowed to land a super punch for only a single round..and was contractually bound to not knock out floyd.

See where this sh*t is going?

If Arum says there's no rehydration clause..and he's the one promoting the fight, I don't see the need to be suspicious of what he said. It would hurt both fighter's legacies if the public found out.

yeah, in another thread, i said i doubt these are true (for pac's fights) as something on paper would have been leaked somehow by now.

The existence of a rehydration clause is plausible, IMO....though unproven, at this point. Team Pac has been 'weight conscience' even as as far back as the second Morales fight (when Morales could no longer effectively make 130 lbs). There was weight controversy in every fight Pac has had above 140 lbs. Freddie has gone on record and, basically, admitted he drains fighters to get an advantage for his fighter. They went back on the agreement with Marg and asked him to come down to nearly WW to fight for a 154 lb title. They asked Cotto to come to 142, then we agreed to no more than 145, they asked him to put up his title too.

Let's just be honest....Team Pac understands the dynamics of a fighter's weight and his performance, and shamelessly manipulate this when they feel the need.

Since we already know there are agreements made to cap (post weigh-in) weight (aka "rehydration clauses")--this has already been proven in this thread alone--and Team Pac has proven extremely weight conscience since moving up to WW, I do not find it a stretch to think there COULD be one employed here, as well.

I wonder if they will show us the fight night weights this time...

arum did catergorically say that there is no rehydration clause in the contract for the pac-margo fight. that's why he also said that he was worried that margo will weight around 165 for the fight vs. pac who will only be @150-151.

arum was also quoted as saying that pac will surely go back to 147 after this fight since boxers like margo are already way too big for pac.

Why are ******s still saying things like this when, as I've pointed out before, every IBF title fight below heavyweight contains a mandatory rehydration limit?

Stop saying that sanctioning bodies would never permit something that is actually in the IBF rules!

There is a rehydration clause, a fixed fight, a catchweight and an Aside Meff.

Those exist altogether in this fight. I am sure of it.
