did anyone expect vitali to have a tough fight with briggs?

Vitali had a very easy fight with Briggs. Briggs was in the best condition of his entire career and he tried and that Briggs would have knocked the fraud Haye out.

 

I can underdstand your point.

Vitali is unlucky as he's picked an area in which heavyweight boxing is in a big decline.

Fighters like Chisora (too fresh) and Briggs (too old) are being placed in front of him. He has no real top draw heavyweights to pick from. In the era of Lennox Lewis he had great fighters like Tyson and Holyfield, Vitali unfortunatly has just scraps to fight. Over-rated slow, predictable fighters like Peter and Valuev

You cant blame Vitali for the opponents he has faced, there just isn't anyone better out there so he has to make do with fighters like Briggs who create a little excitment as their was a little buzz about them in the 90's.

We will never know how Vitali would have got on in a decade when the heavyweight era was strong, I thought he did well against Lennox before the cut but sadly for Vitali thats probably his most memorable fight, through no fault of his own

Haye is the only hope there is of dethroning these guys and his chances are not great

it was a tough night in the office because Klit found out he couldnt stop Briggs. Hard lesson to learn when realise some fighters wont be stopped regardless of what you do to them. Tough knowing Briggs had been stopped by other fighters that fought him.....tough lesson but i think he will get over it in a heartbeat

How exactly was Briggs in better shape than he was for the Lewis fight (for example)? Considering he's older, heavier, slower and incapable of throwing combinations?

I actually like Vitali and enjoy watching him fight but I can't believe people are actually trying to give him credit for beating a guy like Briggs.

Nobody gave Briggs a chance. We thought he'd at least throw a couple big rights in the first 2-3 rounds but he didn't land anything, at least I didn't see those punches.
