The TS is right. The American Heavyweights are simply the best athletes the US has to offer over 200 lbs. Enough with the excuses. The people who try to point out better quality big men are in football and basketball are lying.

Boxing has never been the top sport in UK or even close.

You had no reply for the rest of my statements then?

Arreola and Chambers barely compete, Chambers more so. It seems as if you think that I believe this is a strong era in Heavyweight boxing. :huh

It's a weak era beside a couple of boxers. Which means a lot of countries can't produce boxers good enough, including America...but America has an excuse of course.
I agree the division is in the shitter, but at least other countries don't make excuses...even though they have just as valid a reason for not producing champions.

Again you are a ****ing idiot...http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247278

'Once the American's stopped caring about boxing'...what a bull**** excuse, your country is ego driven. You're talking as if boxing is thriving around the world apart from America.

Answer me this...how long has basketball and the NFL been a popular sport in America?

Weak chins? How's Dirrell doing by the way? He barely got touched by Abraham, yet you used it as a perfect excuse not to fight his 'good friend'.

    Clown.

    Hilarious aint it?

Apparently watching a 6'8 250lb guy leap over someones head has no resonence with Europeans. Perhaps if I showed him kicking a ball into a net they'd get the difference in athleticism between Eddie Chambers and a real elite athlete.

What's your point? Like the majority of American's do, take credit for something their countrymen achieved...you didn't do ****, so you shouldn't take credit.

sorry man, having played both, i have to tell you wearing pads makes you easier to hit, and the hits are bigger

nothing against rugby, just want to clear up that wearing pads doesn't mean you take lighter shots

Athlete doesn't equal boxer. Potential to be a boxer, and it helps being athletic...but not a boxer.

No doubt the increased money/educational opportunities in NBA and NFL has taken young athletes away from boxing. You'd have to be crazy to deny that. Why would a kid take up a sport that involves getting punched in the face and where only the top 5 heavyweights earn good money when he could play a sport that involves putting a ball through a hoop and where worldwide maybe 700 earn good money?

I get that...it's the same with boxing. You can punch harder with gloves on.

It's just this idiot who is very ego driven and biased.

Its just more excuses that some americans use to make themselves feel better about themselves, they are the kings of sour grapes. I dont hear over and over again the argument that the vast majority of mid weight athletes compete in soccer by euros. Im sure potentially the best heavy from any given country has not even laced up a pair of gloves but you only hear one country complaining about it all the time boo hoo :hey cry me a river

yeah coz jumping over someones head means you are a potential great boxer....jordan proved just because you are a good athlete at one sport it doesnt mean you will be in another

It was worthless. You admit the Klitsckos suck, that Americans of the past were better, yet fail to admit that the reason there arent any great American heavies anymore because they are in other sports. You also fail to grasp the fact because Americans are in other sports, the Heavyweight division is terrible, because Americans made the division what it is today.

They are top level contenders. Chambers has a close loss to Povetkin a win over Dimitrenko and Sam Peters. And he's a ****ing fat cruiserweight.
America was producing great heavyweights for 100 years. Where were the other countries then? Dry spell of 100 years?
What were the valid reasons for not producing great fighters over the last 100 years. With the exception of Schmeling and Lewis?
If boxing was thriving in america it would be thriving around the world. The world wasnt producing Mike Tysons and Muhammad ali's we were.

Basketball around 30 years. Football around 50. But only in the last 15 has both completely and utterly surpassed boxing. As Ali said he was bigger then the Kentucky Derby, the Superbowl, the olympics ect ect.
