Depends on what Pavlik shows up though. Can he ever get the hunger to be what he was before the Hopkins fight? If he did, it would be a great fight and he'd have a chance in that case. Hard to see that happening at this point though.

It won't matter how hungry he is or how good of shape he is in. He has been so predicatable with his right hand against good boxers. He could not hit Sergio or Hopkins with 1 the entire fight. It's good he apparently has got his weight right, but what he needs is a new trainer. No way would a top trainer let him be so predicatable with his punches. Double the jab right hand, would get him destroyed by Bute.

Uhhh... did you not watch Jermain Taylor v Kelly Pavlik 1? JT knocked him down and had him hurt. I am not saying that Pavlik isn't a beast because he is one of the toughest guys in the sport. BUT he was hurt

where the hell were you during the hopkins fight? he's fought the same way his entire career.

for all of bute's attributes that will give kelly fits, he gets marked up by guys kelly beats. kelly will find lucian just as andrade and brinkley did. this is no walk in the park for lucian. lucian has never been in the ring w/ someone as good as kelly...and the same cannot be said for kelly in re lucian.

What I like about a Bute-Pavlik fight is that Kelly has passionate fans. This means there will be endless debates and discussion leading to the fight.

:good Exactly. It's fights like this that are desperately needed.

I was at the Bell Centre on Friday night and will be back in March if this fight happens there. :smoke

I think Andrade is better at 168lbs than Pavlik at 166-168lbs.

fair enough. though i disagree. andrade is 6'2" and charges in face first w/ his head right around 5'8". hell just watch the last round of bute/andrade II and watch how many times andrade bends over at the waist and/or doesnt fight tall. and on top of that, for all the punishment andrade took, he gave a lot that round as well. he was finding bute.

kelly, for all his flaws, fights tall and puts punches together better than andrade. the way andrade fights has never worked on kelly and i don't think it would here. standing in front of kelly is a good way to get hurt. though an andrade fight would be a war for sure...its one i think kelly would win. just my opinion.

IF Kelly is in shape he is going to win that fight.
