This makes me so angry. Nothing has changed.

 

And we've got boxers nowadays who complain and don't make bouts because they want that 5-10% extra purse.

 

Ali number 1 heavyweight, top 4 atg p4p imo.

 

Robinson was the king of **** like this.

 

losing 4 years of his prime hurt him....and he still had a better second half of career than 90% of fighters the total career. he beat all of the monster threats of his era, and when he was an under dog in most.... being a heavyweight, he wasnt gonna get 182 fights in a career....like moore, robinson, ect....of all time, doesnt matter to me...greatest heavyweight ever....no doubt

This is a massive problem with fighters nowadays. How many fighters in top 10 spots, fight once a year, IF THAT, because of this? Alot.

In 1975 Ali defended his Wba/Wbc belts 3 times, in a 3 month span. You wont be seeing a fighter defend two belts that often any time soon (yes I do realize sometimes its the corrupt sanctioning bodies fault too nowadays).

 

Ali, due to his legendary popularity, is usually ridiculously over rated by the non boxing educated person.

Ali as a whole, I think was pretty damn over rated, probably because of his charisma when he fought, but I must give him props when it comes to his weight class.

Ali was probably the best heavyweight ever.

 

Take away Ali's wins over Foreman, Liston and Frazier and Ali still has the best competition ever at Heavyweight. No other heavyweight fought that many tough challengers as he did. Overrated? Go **** yourself for even thinking it.

 

Ali is easily the greatest of all times. I dare anybody to give me a better resumes then Liston, Norton, Patterson, Frazier, Foreman?

 

Come to think of it Ali does hold a win over (faded) Archie Moore.

That alone is pretty for a resume.

I wouldn't argue with people putting him as high as 7 though. He's my number one heavy though, although if I review my heavyweight list like I have recently my P4P list, Louis could overtake him. But his resumé is just too deep and H2H, well, a peaked '66/67 Ali might be the best heavy we've ever seen on film.

He had his technical flaws, sure. But ever boxer does and what he did have in his locker was mesmerizing, and what he achieved proves that he was one of the greatest heavies of all-time in terms of his ability.

 

Wtf You rank Duran higher then Ali?

 

With Patterson and Norton.

 

No other heavyweight had such serious competition over such a long period of time. From Sonny Liston to Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton and Bob Foster, Ali's resume is second to none at heavyweight. Classic , dramatic, exciting performances against some of the best ever.
The same can be said of Robinson, but his competittion was even stiffer than Ali's, and he fought at the top level for a longer time.
