They thrive for better life, they have different mentality so naturally they will do well. Maybe I was exagerating when I said what I said. I really do hope the new president can change the philippines.

Yeah, the conquerors, the Americans especially, came as a friends. The early Filipinos welcome them with open arms but were slaughtered when they slept. I don't think that something the conquerors should be proud of.

I wish someone had already uploaded this song on youtube. I love this song. Lifts me up when I feel like the Philippines is in trouble.

    "KASARINLAN"

    Magsanay gumawa at mag-isip mag-isa,

    Isang kasarinlan, isang kalayaan.

Come on bula, I think you already know this.

When a bisayan say "lamon" or "bunganga" its considered rude to the tagalogs I bet? But it just mean "eat" and "mouth" to the bisaya right? why not say "kain" or "bibig"?

Its unfortunate but its just the way it is, people can get offended for no reason at all.

Oh yeah, but the giraffe is several feet taller than you and the horse is a foot longer than you! You can't really compare a kaymito to kalamansi.

I'm as Tagalog as it gets here, and I've never been offended by those words.

I friggin' use that word too.

    What's so offensive with that?

Where the heck did you stay in the Philippines when you were here? :huh

I feel you just were wearing the "Philippines is a hellhole" glasses when you stayed here.

It's easy to think that way, when your mindset and outlook is automatically slanted that way.

I've lived my whole life in the Philippines, and I'm telling you, it's not as bad as you think it is.

The place needs some major major improvements, yes.

    But we're no hell hole.

No it doesnt bother me. When I was in taguig/makati my family/friends or people I know only use those word to degrade someone.

For example you say "para kang asong lumamon" or "salpak mo sa bunganga mo"

Thats why I was sort of asking you cuse I wasnt sure if this is a standard thing over there.

    Lamon: Eat voraciously
    Bunganga: Wide open mouth

If a close relative or friend said that to me, I know it's just good natured but hard ribbing or something like carino brutal.

Describing you eat like a Tazmanian devil and you got a huge mouth.

If they said that to random people they don't even know, then they're just rude assholes.

Being Filipino has nothing to do with it.

The words in itself has zero offensiveness factor. It's how and when and the tone you use it.
