Kasarinlan which in everyday use may mean independence was used here to mean self reliance. Nice lyrics, who wrote this, bula?

Vintage florante. My favorite florante songs are laban, pinay, ako'y isang pinoy, si tatang and many others. I watched him played in a concert live at the araneta colesium many many years ago.

Defense mechanism working here. he hates it when foreigners **** on his mother country but he can't do nothing about it either by being a coward or incompetent. So to relieve himself from the feeling of remorse, he also **** on his mother country.

    Laban, sa kalooban ko man
    ako's handang handang lumaban
    para sa ating kalayaan

Ngunit bakit? hindi ko rin maitindihan
    magkapwa taoy naglalaban
    nanananananan digmaan

    Digmaan...

Damn, the title is digmaan and not laban. Chinga.

Yes I apologize, it was wrong for me to say that. The Filipinos defended their homeland bravely against what can only be described as near genocide by American and Japanese invaders.

im born n raised in maynila, n its like hell on earth. abandoned building everywhere, squatters scattered all over the place, homeless childen sleeping on the streets everywhere while people just walk pass them, cops robbing the children of the money they begged for in the streets(sindikato) little 4-5year olds selling crack in the escinitas with their 60-70 year old grandmother helping them, plenty of murders that goes down in the city over money(in my family) bumper2bumper traffic with no lanes or stoplights, humid as hell and the only air is pollution, corrupt govnt. that plans on keeping the rich rich and the poor poor(70%poor) overcrowded population because babies are making babies, a catholic religion where there are no christian ways, average job(tricecledriver, foodbender) is about $10 a week, collage is overrated(even with a degree, still hard as hell to get a job.) i can go on and on but basically, there's no rules in mymaynila.. ask my uncle who's been through hell- he'll show u its hell on earth. pray4pilipinas.

    Bingo

So it can be offensive to others after all :nut

Its the same way as calling pakistani "paki" or black people "negros" or the chinese the "china man"

I cant really tell you anymore I guess its different when you grow up with other cultures, thats when you learn how to respect them.
