I have been out o the country for 5 years already and I miss the conveniences of the PI. You don't have to drive far to get things.

Metro Manila is not a bad place to be if you know where to go.



Another thing to look at it is that happiness is not measured by what you have.

There is an organization that measures people's happiness per ****ry. The Happy Planet Index places the PI at number 14 while the US at 114. Costa Rica is number 1. (you could google if you want Happy Planet Index - that is the second report already)

Where in the world would you find person whose monthly income is probably equivalent to 1 or 2 days work in the western world and be happy texting or just sitting and doing nothing? There are many marginally employed Filipinos yet you don't see any bitterness in their plight of life.

Compared to the western world where there are people who choose not to work and be on welfare (which does not exists in RP) and still blame everybody for their plight.

That is why when Filipinos emigrate, they become successful. Nothing is handed to us in silver platter.
