They should fight each other, I know they could hurt each other but theoretically, either one of them could just as easily get hurt fighting somebody else. If the brothers were that worried about each other's safety, each would be telling the other not to box at all. Instead, they both stand in their brother's corner and cheer him on as he risks his safety against inferior competition. So Wlad is comfortable with Vitali getting hurt by Lennox Lewis, just not by himself? Another thing to remember is that boxing is a sporting event, not an actual "fight." As much as we like to use words like "war" and "battle" when discussing what happens in the ring, it is actually just two men trying to find out who is better at a sport. Nobody would be telling the brothers that they have to dislike one another. There are plenty of boxers who are good friends that have gone at it in the ring. Is their concern for each other less valid than Vitali and Wladimir's? The referee and doctor are there to protect fighters from being hurt, and that doesn't change whether the combatants can't stand each other or are best buddies. At the end of the day, this fight will probably take place only in the mind
a few rounds down on points going into the Final round, Vitali floors wlad... however it doesnt look enough to swing it back on the cards for him..... so..... can you honestly imagine Vitali hunting down his brother trying to knock him out? For us fans it is rather rubbish that the 2 best fighters in the division are brothers. However the fact that they do not fight is completley understandable
Its the same with Floyd .... after he discovered PAc's father was on the business trip to Grand Rapids in 1976, Floyd is not willing to face Manny Pac anymore.
You do not have siblings do you? Would you have no problems to see your brother (or father if you do not have a brother) getting carried away on a stretcher with severe injuries that you had caused? And when you hear that he has suffered cerebral haemorrhage and the docs tell you he will have permanent brain damage (with the Klitschkos you have to consider such an injury) you have no problem to deal with it? You know sometimes boxers die in the ring, ask the boxers who killed their opponent in the ring how they feel (it is not hard to imagine how they feel). And then think about how a boxer would feel to have killed his own brother, it would certainly affect your life in the worst way, and that of your parents. SO would you take a risk like this only because some people want to see it who are not even a fan of yours?
I may be wrong here but i was of the understanding that the Klitschko's refused to fight each because they promised their mother they wouldn't rather than not wanting to fight each other because they don't want to hurt each other.
