Lewis TKO 6 Voidtali Both then avoid SNV, Lewis retires and Voidtali gets ''injured'' for four years and then still ducks SNV.
Lewis surely could have stopped Vitali on cuts, but KO? Well, name please iron-chinned boxers who were KO'd by Lewis? I'll name - totally shot Mike Tyson. Who else? Shannon Briggs, though he was KO'd by Wilson in 3 rounds. Surely good chin, but hardly great. Let's take a closer look on Lennox Lewis' career. He looked a devastating puncher vs the guys like Bruno, Morrison, Golota, Grant, Botha, Rahman. But Lennox couldn't knock down or hurt past-prime Evander Holyfield even with numerous power shots he landed cleanly on Evander's chin in 1st fight. He couldn't hurt Evander with unbeliavably hard uppercut in their 2nd fight. Lennox couldn't hurt Ray Mercer with his best shots. And we all know that Vitali also took best bombs from Lennox. So please stop this "Lennox would have brutally KO'd him in 1".
Fourth Lewis/Vitali thread for today and non of them provides anything new to the table. Lewis by decision.
I voted Vitali cause I'm pissed off by Einsteins who think it's a mismatch. It's not a mismatch. It's close to call. That is all.
I think Vitali's style would always give Lewis some problems. His size, jab and workrate would mean he could do what no fighter had ever done before and that was to box with Lewis and have success. But Lewis is undoubtedly the superior fighter. It would be competitive but Lewis' power would be the deciding factor as while Vitali was able to hurt Lennox he didn't have the power to KO him with one punch and the way Lewis just kept walking him down when they did fight doesn't bode well for Vitali. I see Lewis taking over in the middle rounds and battering Vitali for a few rounds before forcing a stoppage in about 8-9 rounds.
70:30 in favor of Lewis as the result indicates sounds pretty good. I got it even a bit closer @60:40 or 65:35 with quite some draws between 'em because I believe Lewis was far from shot, done or faded against Vitali. Just a bit overweight. And yeah, this is probably one of the most intriguing and competitive match ups in HW history and hardly a "Lewis KTFO1 olololol I'm fighter from da past"-mismatch. Neither of these guys could ever be on the wrong end of a mismatch.
