On a second thought it does seem a dickheadish thing to say while Briggs is still in hospital. Could Vitali be a bit afraid and that's why he reacts like that?

Why? It's a sport. You may not like the fact he beat your brother, but if you have any class, you would respect him. Wlad always respected Lewis and Byrd.

    lol

sure. they were two pros getting paid to compete in a sport. sanders didn't blindside him down an ally in a fit of rage over wlad eating the last of corrie's nachos.

    Let me answer for Rico.................

Yes, Vitali is that good & quite frankly, Haye is not that good. If Haye was a serious threat he wouldn't have fought Valuev the way he did. Judging from their recent fights how can anyone say Haye has better skills than either Klitschko? With a straight face anyway...................:yep

...Whereas the Klitschkos are afraid of losing their TV deal or slice of the UK money if they fight Haye.

this whole bull**** about being disrespect before the fight and then all chummy after the fight is stupid.

You're gonna insult me before a fight, then don't be surprised I rub it in your face after I whoop your ass. If you don't like it then you should show some respect from the beginning.

If its just talking then stop being so fake, the sport doesn't need fake hype.

There's nothing wrong with protecting your family, espcially since Vitali is a fighter himself in the same division. He was defending the family name & I'd do the same thing, in fact I've done it when my older brother was jumped outside a bar about 10 years ago. I tackled the guy & knocked him out.

I was a gut reaction the way Vitali acted. He challenged him so what? If would've been wrong if Vitali started swinging like Bowe's entorage after they watched their meal ticket get his ass kicked by Andrew Golota. One of them hit Golota in the head with a cell phone....................that's over the line, what Vitali did wasn't.

they don't like it when you bring this up. Haye nuthuggers called his performance "masterclass" on here.:rofl:patsch

That fight was a disgrace you have a guy in Haye who they all claim has all these skills and he shows up and fights a flat footed slow as molasses Valuev like a Matador. I am not saying Haye should have tried and gone right at him for every second of every round but he could have at least put in an effort and fought him straight up like Chagaev did by going in and out ripping combinations. Instead Haye ran and threw an embarrassing 11.9 punches a round.

And after all his false bravado and talk of KOing the Klitschko brothers he is going to try and fight them the same exact way if he would not engage with a slow skill less sloth like Valuev he is not going to engage with either Klitschko who are 10 times better in every skill department than Valuev ever dreamed of being.

The thing is with Vitali, he does back up in straight lines but because he rarely fights anyone with size that matches his, he gets away with it. He's had 4" on every opponent since Lewis and not one of them had a good straight shot. When he has fought someone his size, Lewis, he was hit going back. He manages to avoid these shots because they simply can't reach him and, because of his foot placement and stance, he can lean back very far.

As far as his head movement goes, it's limited. When he faces a guy who can match him for size or beat him for agility, he will get hit.

Obviously Haye can beat him for agility, so how would he land? The key is to fight similar to how Pascal did against Dawson and make quick bursts from the outside, use his faster feet, and get out of there quickly. Haye's tactics against Vitali would be guerrila style and Vitali would struggle with that.

Apart from the comparison with Pascal and Dawson, I mentioned Jack Johnson earlier, and the way to beat Klitschko is pretty similar to the style which gave Johnson issues. You have to give him lots of movement and be out of range, land a shot and be out of there again. Similar to how Haye fought Valuev, but, as Vitali has better feet than Valuev, Haye would also need to be more mobile and more active.

Throwing those kind of shots, Vitali could get stopped. I think it could be similar to Mosley/Margarito, if Haye can find his range well. Unfortunately for Vitali, he doesn't know how to protect his range, unlike Wlad, so that gives Haye easily enough chances to get in and out with ease.

The thing I see as a positive for Haye, is the opposition both guys have been fighting. Haye has fought bigger, slow boxers, which is exactly what Vitali is. He's much slower than Haye, but he has size on his advantage. Haye is maturing well and knows how to box against this. However, when was the last time Vitali ever fought a guy with Haye's speed, agility or footwork? He hasn't, but the closest he's seen has been Sanders and that fight happened 6 years ago.

I'm confident Haye would beat Vitali.
