Fedor? Brock? GSP? who rakes in the most $$$$?

i know people don't like talking about this, but i'm curious. MMA is becoming a pretty mainstream sport and there's alot of money in this.

Agreed Brock has passed everyone by whether its Tito, Chuck, Randy dont matter Brock is the biggest star in MMA easily. Im for once curious to see how this PPV sells. Brock is MMA's biggest star, Velasquez has alot of hype around him and has the country of Mexico on his back and of course the weekly Primetime series promoting this fight. Then there is Jake Shields UFC debut and of course Tito is returning and even now despite being barely relevant he is still a controversal fighter that people wanna see kick ass or get ****ed up and even for this fight hes pissed off alot of people with his deaf comments.

has to be brock. check the stats. if brock is headlining then the buy rate roughly doubles from 500k to 1mil.

Agreed.I would suspect that GSP would be second on this list.Silva and Penn have lost their appeal.

Right now, it's Brock by a country mile.

I think Lyoto Machida could have been a huge star, before the two Shogun fights killed that stone dead. Machida is what a lot of casual fans still expect when they imagine a martial artist: someone closer to Bruce Lee than Brock Lesnar.

If he had remained undefeated a little longer and kept finishing people, I honestly think he would have quickly established an aura similar to Fedor, but with the fanbase only the UFC can provide.

But post Shogun II, the Machida bandwagon is almost empty.

If GSP's headlining he is second.

800k bought GSP vs Hardy and that is considered his weakest opponent!

Great to see pro wrestling get its dues. Pro wrestlers have been in MMA since its inception. But for some odd reason fans seem not to recognise this or chose not too. Either way Brock was the poster boy for the WWE and now he is for the UFC. If there were more WWE stars making the cross over you can bet your bottom dollar fans would be tuning in. Surprised Vince hasnt started his own MMA promotion with guys from OVW...

I remember reading his kid wanted to start up an MMA promotion a few years ago, but nothing ever came of it. With all the WWE's money, contacts and experience putting on and promoting PPV events, they would have been a force to be reckoned with. Vince really missed the boat on that one.

That was Shane. I believe they had some talks with the UFC. But im not sure what came of it. Vince certainly has the breeding ground for guys that dont make it as WWE stars to make the cross over into MMA and still earn some good bucks.
