If Hopkins beats Pascal, will you rank him higher than Roy and Floyd?

I don't think he makes too many mistakes technically. If you're the shorter man against a tall and extremelly skilled southpaw like Dawson, it's very hard to find ways to win.

He needed to expend that kind of energy to get inside and throw combinations...

I think that's what caused him to lose his stamina and fade late...

I don't think he would have been knocked out though. He has shown that he is very tough and has a good chin.

But I do agree that Hopkins probably wouldn't take this fight unless he saw something he could exploit, but then again, he was also thinkin of fightin David Haye.

And while David Haye is not perfect either, and Hopkins is a great fighter, Haye is a true heavyweight with ridiculous speed and power, and good technique.

That would have been a bad match up for Hopkins, and I don't care what he saw that he could exploit. David Haye is fast and can punch.

Floyd has championships in so many divisions because he cherry picks, not because he cleans one out and moves on. When's the last time he fought a mandatory? Hopkins dominated a division for the better part of a decade. That's why I give Hopkins more respect.

Jones has the unfortunate circumstances of being in a weak division which he made look pathetic when compared to him. Jones and Hopkins are 1 and 1A on this list. Due to the greatness probably being "enhanced," I give the nod to Hopkins.

You give Hopkins respect for fighting mandatories? :rofl Not beating champions, winning belts across multiple divisions, but beating shitty mandatories is what you respect.

Beating Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo, Ricky Hatton = Garbage.

Beating Carl Daniels, Syd Vanderpool, and Keith Holmes = Gold.

Roy Jones was on ripped fuel. Not a steroid, not a performance enhancer.

You make some good points, I just see things differently. I have the old school mentality that a champion rules the roost until he gets knocked off. Longevity has its merit.

Have a client coming in so have a good weekend.

I did read an interesting article where it is only said that Jones claims to have taken ripped fuel, but it said ripped fuel couldnt have raised his levels by 6 times like found.

I already do and this would just propel him farther ahead. That man is the best fighter of my generation.
How many times has he proven everyone wrong when he is the underdog?
It is stupid to bet against him. He has slipped though. He is not the same fighter he was when he was 43.
I think its going to be a close fight but Pascal better do enough the first half of the fight so he can dictate it. He lets Hopkins dictate the fight and its over. Pascal does look like he will wind down towards the end though. Then again Hopkins has shown the same.

I say Hopkins needs to take the first few rounds to have a shot.

:huh Holding a major belt only means that you where willing to pay the sanctioning fees.
Im a big Hopkins fan, but I dont even consider a win over Pascal as one of the most remarkable wins in modern times. Pretty funny though:lol::lol::lol::lol:

No if Dawson had beaten Pascal and Hopkins beat Dawson I'd reconsider my answer.

A win over Pascal would likely put him just ahead of Roy Jones in my eyes, but still not quite Floyd or even Manny for that matter.

This guy knows what he's talking about, I don'tsee how someone like Pascal can make a fighter move up in the ATG rankings.
