Heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko has pulled out of the IBF’s innovative four fighter box-off to determine the mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko. Dimitrenko was slated to face Johnathon Banks in the first round, with Eddie Chambers to meet Jean Marc Mormeck in the other half of the draw. There are rumors that Mormeck may also withdraw.
With Dimitrenko out, and if the IBF sticks with the four man format, Derric Rossy would be the next available heavyweight in line to step in and fight Banks. Rossy and Banks were actually supposed to fight in July for the NABF title before Banks pulled out with shoulder injury. If Mormeck is also replaced, the next available contender would be Maurice Harris, so this could possibly turn into an all American box-off.

sad these guys give no explanation.....they just want a shot for doing nothing and because they weigh over 201 pounds. :-(

Wow, who the hell would want to see any of these 4 fighters fight Wlad? Does the division really suck that bad? I wish Povetkin would just step up and get his ass kicked like a man, I can't wait to see that weak chin he's been hidding for some time now.

    Got to agree..

But so far Povetkin has not Show any signs of BAd chin BUT he hasnt fight any Big punchers either...

question is.. Why The **** he hasnt take any strong guys with Big Punch so far if he takes those guys FOR PREPAPING for Wlad?:think

It just makes me wonder about this guy..:huh

You and me both, his best wins are over heavyweights with a below 50% knockout ratio. Guys like Bryd, Chambers, Donald, and Estrada. The guy is hidding that weak chin, and his management team is helping him do so. I smell another Audley Harrison if you ask me.

I think that his chin is ok if not even good. He is just not talented or big enough to stand a chance against either Klit

Then why has he yet to fight an oppenent with power? Everytime he had a chance to fight Wlad he punked out, which makes me believe he has something to hide.

who needs tournaments anyway there's 3 firggin champs not even rated in each others orgs, so shots galore no tournaments needed , if you just thought of the reality that Wlad is in fact champion and the other matches are contender fights life would be easier for you and you wouldnt have to worry no more

Good point. But if Harris, banks, or rossy emerge from this tourny and get the shot, could well be the worst title defense ever (tho I like Mo Harris, but look at his inactivity and record)

I don't get why Banks is participating in this tourney since the winner will likely face Wlad and Banks and Wlad are good friends.

So it will be Banks, Chambers, Harris, and Rossy? Guess American heavywight boxing ain't dead yet. Funny that Harris has his IBF ranking from beating the rankings-man....Nagy Aguilera.

As for the whys...I don't think the IBF is paying Dimitrenko. He makes more money with less risk fighting Sosnowski or Sprott.....and he'll still be a more attractive opponent for Wlad then Chambers even if Chambers wins this thing.

Agreed. He has nothing that makes Wlad even blink an eye at. Wlad would knock him out even faster if they fought again.
