If Hopkins beats Pascal, will you rank him higher than Roy and Floyd?

Roy and Floyd are far better fighters, though Hopkins may have a slight edge in resume. But I don't think there's anything he can do at this point short of winning a Heavyweight championship that would put him above either guy on my list.

Hopkins doesnt have an edge in resumes.

Beating welterweights in Tito and Oscar, and 2 blown up junior welterweight and middleweight in Winky and Pavlik does not make him have a better resume then a 4 division champ in Roy and 5 division champ in Floyd.

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl He avoided Dawson, yes because it was a bad style match up. But Pascal is hardly a cherry pick. Pascal just beat the dog **** out of Dawson and Hopkins has looked horrible his last 2 fights. He is 46 years old and I expect Pascal to win easy. Hopkins pulled out the upset with Pavlik but Pascal is a better, bigger fighter than Pavli, and Hopkins is 2 years older since the Pavlik fight and has looked horrible the last year.

Hopkins has the rare talent of being able to fight extremely dirty, ruin the fight, yet maintain control of the mess to come away with the W. In my opinion it's necessary to rate victory based on the performance of the fighter who won. Hopkins run of beating up blownup welterweights and middleweights is over. It's time for people to realize that Hopkins is done.. He's looked like **** for a while and the bull**** dirty tactics will not work against Jean Pascal. I can't see one single scenario where Hopkins leaves Montreal a winner. We could see Hopkins get seriously ****ed up in this fight..

damn Floyd is 5 division champ and he only moved up 24 pounds? There really is too many divisions in the lower weight classes. Roy is 4 division champ and moved up 40 pounds.

Nothing Bernard Hopkins has ever done or may do can eclipse what he's accomplished. I'm not really a Mayweather fan either just here to try and be a voice of sanity.

We can start with Floyd's victory and performance over Diego Corrales. Hopkins can't come close to that caliber of a win...Take away the obvious cherrypick win over DLH, and Trinidad, and you're left with who? Pavlik? Or another middleweight? Or Maybe Robert Allen?

This thread is a big ****ing joke. The Hopkins huggers are in for a big shock as Pascal will rip Bslop a new ******* when they meet. Afterwards everyone will come on here and say "He was bound to fade sooner or later." or the classic "Hopkins is finally shot".

    i dont agree in part.

corrales is a limited puncher who never got close to floyd because he needs his opponent to be pretty much static infront of him -so i'm wondering why you used that example?

and i don't understand why you would dismiss anyone who will say hopkins "was bound to fade sooner or later.....is finally shot".

look at the man's longevity and what he's achieved over time.

hopkins is just adding stripes to his legacy now as i see it.

Many people including yourself don't understand that Corrales was 33-0. Can't remember the odds but Mayweather was not a heavy favorite if at all. Corrales was NOT a limited puncher either.
    Mayweather made Corrales look limited.

a fighters record never tells the whole story, so don't tell me what i "don't understand".

and yes, corrales was a limited fighter.

the reason why floyd is so good is because no-one is going to outbox him, agreed?

go watch the fight again and see how many times diego tries to set himself but ends up throwing zero because floyd baits him in, hits him and moves.

seriously, go watch the fight again and you'll see corrales following floyd all night long and getting picked off.

Now you go watch Corrales outbox Casamayor then comeback and tell us how Corrales is a limited puncher. It isn't possible to not sound foolish in doing so.

that's because floyd is a benchmark and casamayor isn't.

The point is Corrales being owned by the best pure boxer of an era doesnt make him one dimensional. Despite Casa not being the benchmark Corrales beating him the way he did highlighted the fact that Chico could box very well when he wanted.

fair enough. i'll agree with that.

but it still makes my jaw drop sometimes to see how a lot of fighters at the top level lack versatility.

floyd is the master at what he does but corrales spent 20 minutes or more selling the same routine.
