This isn't one of my own uploads, but it's one hell of a fight. A toe-to-toe war of attrition and, as Harry at the beginning of the video mentions, in the mould of Ali vs Frazier III. Sadly, the full fight wasn't televised, but what is shown is great.

    Enjoy :good

    cracking....thanks for that...proper treat that.

those punches sounded very loud :)....Cattouse hit him with a lot in those middle rounds, he looked classy..feeney knew to come on strong at the ends of the round.

    great battle.

It was Feeney-Cattouse in October 1982 - just a month before Mancini-Kim - which hastened the end of 15-rounders in this country, and the last scheduled 15-rounder for the British title took place a year later between David Pearce and Neville Meade.
Feeney-Cattouse was too long, too brutal.

What a fight that was! Shame there isn't a full broadcast. Great find Kos.

2 fighters that were never going to back down from eachother in a million years and produced insane action. Round 12 is amongst the most memorable I think I've ever seen. The crowd gave up trying to cheer every shot landed and it ended up as one long continuous roar as the 2 men battled. Fantastic finish from Feeney, what a pair of warriors.

Yep. Feeney himself fought Mancini in his very next fight and in what was Mancini's first fight back after the Kim tragedy. He very nearly won too - I think he nearly stopped Mancini in the 8th before Ray rallied in the last couple of rounds to sneak the decision.
This is a top fight, terrific give and take. I might have bet on Feeney and Cattouse at their best to beat the likes of John Murray on a given day. Hard men they were and very good domestic fighters who never quite cracked it at euro or world level (both of which were considerably tougher than they are now).
I also believe that Feeney had beaten a very old and tired Buchanan in the latter's final fight of his career prior to this little gem. Cheers for putting it up.:thumbsup

    Kosaros,

My Friday night wasn't awash thanks to your handy work. I watched these 4 last night. Tremendous stuff.
Brought back memories and had never seen Frearon v Walker and Neville Brown fight before. I could just barely remember reading about the Brown one the day after on the old Teletext.
Thanks mate and keep 'em coming!:good

No problem mate. I obviously like all the fights, but I have a soft spot for Brown-Cherifi, one of my fave fights :yep:good
