Appreciate the article...good read. When Floyd is talking sensibly (not showboating for the media or on the defensive), he has some interesting things to say. It's good to hear/read things from the fighter's perspective, and not always their handlers, family, etc.

Was the interviewer handling Floyd with kid loves, as some on here suggest? You could argue that. But, Manny is handled the same way in his interviews. The point is to give the fighter a chance to speak, not grill him or degrade him (especially, if you want him to give you other interviews in the future). We have Brian Kenny, Max Kellerman, and others for that sort of entertainment.

Oscar was ten times more popular and beloved than lil floyd. Oscar was a true superstar, gold medalist, American idol and hero, major attraction with females, his fights were exciting, he fought the best, major endorsement deals. floyd is like a wanna be copycat riding on coattails to the top, with careful matchmaking and ducking and dodging. he is not an authentic superstar, just a manufactured one. once he is knocked out, he will be boxing in 2000 seat ball rooms, forgotten and fade away to the obscurity from which he came from.

damn..Floyd signed the contract for the first negotiations...MORE EVIDENCE THAT THEY DIDN'T WANT THE MARCH DATE..

Roach said himself that March 13th was too soon and they would need more time to prepare for Floyds style....

so floyd signed the contract...yup..pac wanted no parts in that March date..

makes sense though...once inside the ring YOUR NOT focusing on the money your getting ..your focusing on your opponent..he focus on the money before the contract is even signed...

That was more of an ego stroking than an interview. One thing they brought up that is interesting is the race issue in promoting boxers. I've never understood why black boxers don't get promoted as effectively as white, hispanic, and Asian fighters, and they don't seem to draw as much either. Coming from the UK, many of our most famous and popular fighters are black; look at David Haye today and Eubank, Benn and Bruno before him. Why don't black American boxers get the same popularity? I know they're a minority race, but so are Latinos, and they don't have any problem drawing.

Most definitely. Even after a bad knockout loss, his next fight would do great numbers.

So Floyd signed the contract the first time around? Interesting.

I guess Roach really didnt believe Pac could beat Floyd.

haha...funny how the *******s listen to Roach when he talks about a winner take all..

but when he making claims they need more time and floyd is a different fighter...and they'll take a 5 day window...

these guys are something else..hopefully they dissapear like the hatton fans after ricky got knocked..

they dont realize there in the same boat but hey...after pac gets beat they'll be gone and this forum can get back to how it used to be :good

notice how they dont reference anything factual..they choose to stay away from it cuz they know theyd look stupid

Floyd hates answering any questions about Pacquiao. So give the writer some credit even if it's not the full amount.

Could be that he agrees with most of what Floyd says, which isn't improbable or impossible. Floyd says questionable things at times but other times he does spit logic. Imagine that. How many times have we seen an article or a video by his Filipino brethren that criticizes Manny? Reporters can be fans too. I don't see anything wrong with that. Would you rather have a douche like Larry Merchant interviewing Floyd? It would go nowhere because Floyd would be too agitated to talk. It can be annoying at times when people overdo things but I don't think this article is any bigger of a "kiss-ass" article than what the Filipino media releases.

I was digging for that too and was disappointed they didn't talk about the 2nd round of negotiations. I have not found any good articles or interviews about it which is frustrating. It seems to me the media and many fans believe Pac agreed to "everything" but does that mean he agreed to 60/40 along with no cutoff date? I need that cleared up. As for what Floyd said about the 14 days, he probably meant Team Pac didn't want the deal, that's all.

    Are you idiots?

Nobody signed any contract!!!! It never reached that point. How can anybody sign a contract that does not have definite stipulations? What did he sign when they can not agree on the ODST part? Did the contract state that it would be 14 days?

*****s and their spin yarn. I am always FLOORED by your idiotic logic. Commonsense seems not so common afterall.:lol::lol:
