Nishioka has a peach of a punch. Munroe has to be careful during the first few rounds, if he can keep it competitve for a couple of rounds and not get tagged, then he has a chance with his work rate and stamina. Nishioka has a KO punch, but I get the feeling he won't be that aggressive and if Munroe can avoid the really meaty shots then he may be able to sneak a late split decision win. If Monroe is too aggressive and reckless early, I think he will be vulnerable. However, it would be epic to see him completely outbox, outfox and stop Nishioka, but i don't see it happening. Great fight to watch, but I think the Brit fans of Monroe will be on the edge of their seats tomorrow morning hoping that inevitable counter-bomb doesn't land. Go on Monroe! :happy
I've read it on here mate and seen it on Ringside this morning, but I can understand that some people don't know yet! Tell the world.
I'd love to see him do it but I don't think he will. I'm more encouraged than I was with the likes of Mitchell/Burns stepping up before hand because he's not taking as big a jump, he's obviously mixed it at European level and come out on top and had to take an eliminator of the way there. That said, it's still a step-up in class and Nishioka is a good operator, with speed, good technical skills and a solid punch, and he's proven world level. Munroe will probably end up getting stopped here, even though he has a good skin, Nishioka is a great puncher and he's taken out guys at genuine world level. I hope he does it though, would be fantastic to see him win.
I think Rendall has little chance in this fight, unfortunately. Big step up for him imo. I think Nishioka's speed and power will be Rendall's downfall and although Munroe has shown a decent chin up to now, I think he will get stopped. Nishioka won't have too many problems finding the mark and those power shots will hurt. Nishioka TKO.
Well Nishioka won the Interim title by beating the current worlds number 183 Napapol Kiatisakchochai in a wide points decision. Since then he won the regular title beating Genaro Garcia, the current worlds number 77. Garcia had lost 2 of his last 3 before facing Nishioka. Nishioka beat Garcia on a KO in the 12th, he has since lost his next fight by KO in the 7th. Nishioka then defended his belt against Jhonny Gonzalez, an impressiove KO in the 3rd against the current world number 8, although he was down in the first rd. He then beat the mighty worlds number 61 Ivan Hernandez in the 3rd. Nishiokas last fight was stopped by KO in 5rds against Balweg Bangoyan, the worlds number 145, Blaweg has since lost another by KO. So I make that one decent contender for his belt in his 5 fights. Munroe has fought decent opposition recently and his huge at the weight. I favour Munroe by stoppage around 11.
