Right now, anyone who considers Calzaghe greater than Hopkins is, quite simply, a bit of a moron. There is zero justification for it.

If anyone still thinks so if Hopkins manages to beat Pascal, they should be banned from this website forever for crimes against boxing.

Hopkins had the better career (though not by the distance some would have you believe). Nothing will ever change the fact that head to head Calzaghe's 1-0.

Of course Hopkins has a better legacy, but Calzaghe is a great fighter himself, and will always have his win over BHop.

    No, because:

    1) Calzaghe beat hopkins

    2) It was Calzaghe's 1st LHW fight

    3) Pascal is Carl Froch's leftovers

    4) The poll is biased bull**** invented by a noob

    5) The OP was most likely 'one of those people' that thought Lacy would cream Calzaghe (not that he'd admit it)

Yes because when Hopkins beat Tarver no one said he was not past it and we all know Calzaghe would loose to Trinidad, ODLH, Taylor and Hopkins anyway.

Oh wait the idiot bus just pulled up; I will tell them they forgot someone.

Id say its the other way round. Look at the actual facts.
Hopkins lost his debut, lost to Jones, scraped a draw against Mercado, lost twice to Taylor and lost to Calzaghe.
Except against Tarver, most of Hopkins big wins are against smaller fighters, and Tarver wasnt exactly anything special losing to the worst version of Jones fresh from HW (before he re-adjusted properly back to LHW), Harding and a then 9 losses 2 draws Johnson :nut.
Now Hopkins is facing a Carl Froch leftover.
Calzaghe has a better resume than Hopkins but also has the win over Hopkins.

Remember all wins and losses come back to the undefeated Calzaghe ie It wont matter who wins or loses out of Hopkins and Pascal, as Calzaghe has already beaten Hopkins and has a win over Kessler who beat Froch who beat Pascal. You see all wins come back to Calzaghe :D

I dont understand this, how can Joe be the better fighter but have an inferior record? aren't a fighters abilities judged on the quality of opposition they beat?

I'm a huge Calzaghe fan but any fool can see hopkins is far greater than Calzaghe.

That being said if Calzaghe had a set of nuts who knows if he COULD have been greater than Hopkins. IMO yes and probably a little biased.....

    :yep

I'm not sure who's better. If Joe has gotten bigger fights earlier in his career, maybe we would have an answer.

If I have to choose, I would say Calzaghe beat Hopkins but B-Hop is the greater fighter.

:rofl:patsch Pascal is suddenly a fantastic scalp and World-beater because he beat Glass Jawed hypejob Chad Dawson. But let's not forget that Pascal was trounced by limited brawler Carl "The Cobra" Froch. If Hopkins beats Pascal, he is only beating a guy who lost to Froch.

Calzaghe pwned Hopkins in front of a global audience of millions, even finding time to dry hump him mid-fight, such was his supremacy. :deal

Hopasexuals pwned in a blinding blaze of irrefutable scientific facts. :happy:happy

    Calzaghe > Kessler > Froch > Pascal

Hopkins and Calzaghe are legends the outcome of the Pascal Hopkins fight won't change anything.

FIRST of all, I'm a Bhops fan, but really?? Stop hating... seriously. Anything & everything Bhops does after his fight with Calzaghe won't help him elevate his legacy above Calzaghe's since Hops lost to him a lot closer to his prime... Bhops can beat Tyson & Darth Vader on the same night if he wants, but that will just actually elevate "Calslappy's" legacy along with Bhops'...Does that make sense??
