Good observation......when push comes to shove the DLH fight is the only fight where I saw Paquiao fight disciplined the whole way. I believe that dicipline stemmed from the fact that Pacquiao himself likely did not know what to expect seeing that he was fighting at 147 lbs for the first time in his career. Against Margarito, if Pacquiao gets hit a few times, will he refrain from going to war and battle Margarito in the trenches? He did'nt so that vs Cotto. When Cotto was driving foward, he'd hit Pacquiao quite often and drive him to the ropes.....Roach was having a heart attack in the corner pleading to Pacquiao to get out of the ropes. Pacquiao was'nt diciplined enough to oblige. Pacquiao loves to war, and if he does what he loves vs Margarito, it likely imo is going to cost Pacquiao dearly. You're right Hatesrats, Pacquiao's boxing skills are being overrated on boards like this. He's got better boxing skill than Margarito for sure......but I dont believe he's ever shown he can stick to boxing if his opponent is landing on him. Believe me guys, Margarito is going to land because unlike most opponents, he's the type of fighter that will throw shots simultaneous as the shots are coming in at him. Margarito is'nt shy at all of letting his hands go when his opponents hands are also flowing. This is why Margarito is a very live dog in this fight. Can Pacquiao refrain from backing down from an exchage that has the crowd at Cowboy stadium in an uproar? That crowd at Cowboy stadium is going to be in a frenzy wanting to see a fight......and when the punches start flying, that stadium is going to be a rockin.....will Pacquiao have the dicipline to not let his ego get in the way, slow the pace down and back down from the exchanges and start to use his legs to circle away from those exchanges? I'm going to be impressed with Pacquiao if he can refrain from going to war with Margarito. Its going to be might difficult for Pacroid to refrain from a war once his blood starts a boiling.:boxer
so margaritoe enjoys taking beatings? he sounds like a ***** that can't leave an abusive relationship.
yes, roughly 85% of the bets are favoring pac right now. i am willing to bet that those odds will change a whole lot by fight night as more bettors get a better idea of where margo actually stands among fighters from middleweight down. millions of people who couldnt name 2 boxers can tell you who pac is. you think they would put their money on a guy who got ko by mosely (if they even knew who he was)? i think i have a better grasp of the circumstances surrounding margos loss than the average bettor, and i also understand what hes done against whom. thats why i think this fight is going to be a lot more competetive than a lot of posters on this thread seem to believe. then again, i may be overating margo and pac will have an easy night. if thats the case, i will have no problem admitting i was full of ****.
Everyone overrates Margo. He was outboxed by Cotto before the punches started ripping his face open and he got destroyed by Mosley (who looked unusually good against him) and then looked like **** vs Garcia.
i must not be one of the cool kids then, because i think he is going to give pac a rather tough fight.
I am not saying he has 0 chance. I'm saying pac is so fast and so much better of a boxer that the only way Pac loses to him is in extreme circumstances.
i can see how someone could believe that but i think you would have to be overating pac. pac is not made of titanium and he is going up against the biggest, strongest, most relentless puncher he has ever gone up against. sure he is not a p4p but he did not need to be to beat solid guys much bigger than pac. margo is not going to stop throwing and will force pac to expend unreal amounts of energy either staying away or trading. if he conects solidly, he will hurt pac. if he hits arms or body, he will throw the smaller pac off balance. the only way i see pac avoiding a painful night, is if he takes margo out early. like i stated before, margo is not p4p but he is a world class fighter who is much bigger than a new weight fighting pac.
Win or lose, you win!!!!!! You will see a good fight which seldom happens in boxing nowadays. So you win!!!! Afterall, boxing is entertainment - if you are entertained, you win. The winner of the fight is secondary to the entertainment value.
Pac is an A+ fighter. Marg in his prime was a B-. There is a huge disparity in speed and skill here. Pac thrives vs slow sluggers.
i used a few more than those two variables in my equation so i got a different answer than yours. i guess we will see whos math is off on fight night.
Are you seriously saying Marg might win? Dude... you can get rich if you really believe that. Hit the betting line brother.
So when it's not a tough fight, and Margo loses almost every round and gets all marked up.... was Margo a lesser challenge than you thought, or was Pacquiao better than you thought?
