He won fair and square, and if you find my posting history you'll see I've always said Brock is nothing outstanding. What do you want? Velásquez crowned King of the World? Sorry, dude, he still has a lot to do.
I doubt he actually believed that, but saying he did certainly helped keep the hype train in motion, ultimately making him more money. I don't think he cares what a bunch people on a forum think about that, he's just doing his job, if people buy into what he says then that is their fault.
That was a mismatch, as weird as it sounds. UFC just turned couple of notches more interesting. Velasquez is very effective and The Man in UFC. Congratulations to Mexican Americans! :happy
I don't like cops or anything but dat was dirty man. The cop was escorting him like he's supposed to do, like Brock would want him to do. But yet he pushed him. Idk but i didnt like dat. lol
I knew Lesnar was gonna lose. His strength and wrestling skills, the only thing he had going for him, were negated tonight. I'd like to see Velasquez and my man Kongo mix it up again though. I think Kongo learned his lesson and won't let it go to the ground this time. Or Velasquez against any big, strong, truly athletic striker for that matter. Glad Brock lost though.
mark coleman was a better wrestler than brock and had better gnp. but as far as one dimensional wrestlers its a pretty good comparison.
Mexican pride:deal, the Brown ladies certainily look better than the Whites, :yep:hi:, frank Mir is sitting back with a brew in his hand laughing his ass off..:rasta:happy
Lesnar fought three times in 2008. An injury to Mir caused the delay to the Mir-Lesnar fight in 2009. And had serious health problems stopped him fighting at the end of 2009/beginning of 2010. Despite that he has fought twice in 2010. He's fighting perfectly frequently, especially for a heavyweight. White never gave a prediction for this fight, so I have no idea what prediction he got wrong. And he said that Brock had the potential to be greatest heavyweight ever...which he does (although its unlikely at 32 he has the time to fulfil it). And this is no way proves that Lesnar isn't a real fighter or was overrated. His wrestling looked good early on, as did the knees. The two problems with his performance were that he was overly aggressive and his shockingly poor guard. I was astounded that he had failed to take the Carwin fight on board and improve his defense off his back.
Oh and the fact that Velasquez was just ****ing on tonight. Looked great, showed real power and killer instinct.
Nah it very much prooves that Lesnar was overated, the glaring weaknesses we saw agenst Carwin that many tried to dismiss where even more obvious this time round. These werent simple mistakes, poor striking, lack of defence off his back and a massive lack of composure/heart under pressure are all fundamental flaws in his game. Is he a dangerous fighter? yes he is. Is he or was he ever likely to be a dominant force at HW? not a chance. As with Chuck being destroyed when he finally came up agenst some decent strikers this is a clear case of a fighters critics(the reasonable ones not the anti UFC crowd) being prooven correct.
